Cloning machines? Any users?

I been using plain tap water, the water temp is 75-80 so I think that's a bit high no? I have stems literally in the water, first mistake.

I been taking them from the top, they were all tops because it was a mainlines plant for 8 and I took 8 clones from the tops .

I have it on 24/7, maybe I need to cool the water also, what do you mean by chiller? Just an Ice pack or some thing?

Thanks a lot for the support guys, I'm going to have to take a couple more cuts and be careful about the stem placement.

Here's what thy look lik now , are the stems done should I trash them and start all now? The mom I'm taking it from is a tga cherrygasm. It's the front left plant

Honestly I'm not sure if 75-80 is too hot, if the stems start turning a gray brown color and look slimy at the cut the water might be too hot.

I have a water chiller, like an actual water chiller and I pump the cold water it makes through a coil that is in the aero cloner to keep temps consistent. It's not necessary but I had the chiller and use it to cool down my main reservoir already so I just had to add a couple parts to use it for the cloner too. You don't need a chiller just for a cloner in my limited experience anyway.

Like @BobBitchen said you only need a little bit of light, if there's too much light they will burn themselves up trying to grow leaves instead of root.

In the second picture, try your best to make sure you don't leave any growth tips (pinch em off real good) below the neoprene collar cause sometimes they'll try to grow stems and leaves out of them even though that part is in the dark.

I'm not very experienced so take what I say with a grain of salt. I really haven't had any problems cloning though, even monster crop clones taken from my shitty plants when they were 28 days into flowering.

Just lower your water level so they get sprayed the way they should and they will root, you can treat these plants very badly and they recover.

Tap water.
Plant tray with a high dome.
2' 2 fixture florescent, cool white.
Oasis cube with whatever flavour clone gel you like.
Air stone and pump.
Small under aquarium heater.

If you're having issues cloning I would suggest looking at how and where you're taking cuts.

did 22 cuts got 21 fully rooted...no dome no moisture tray....no clone station or what ever...
22 pots on a concrete floor...some stim root hormone powder and 4 pack of 4' T5 lights..set up fairly high above the pots running 24 hours
waited 10 days, and all but 1 had rooted...must be beginners luck...lol

anything else seems like MR toomuchi.....

I've done soil, rockwool, and the ez clone. The ez clone was the best for me. As long as I kept my water temp down to around 70 degrees I always had near 100% success. It was also much quicker. Soil I was always looking at around 21 days before I could flower, Rockwool would be about 14-18, but the ez clone was 11-14. Just depends on what fits your own grow system. I had hell with the ez clone in Florida. It was a bitch keeping the temp down in one of my houses.

Just so frustrated, such a simple task and just can't get it
The cuts I took yesterday are still limped over , already look dead.

No sign of any root growth on the others from 10 days ago but standing up

I'm gonna just start fresh with all methods, fuckin annoyed

I'm having an issue with cloning....I'm bad at it...no luck

In the past year I've taken probably 25 cuts and only got 5 to root. I followed the way subcool does it, with just rapid rooters and a dome, didn't master that so I got an ez cloner , took cuts about 10 days ago...nothing, tops look decent, down low no root growth and I'm starting to think they won't grow out. Are the stems supposed to be submerged, just above the water line ? I've retraced all the mistakes people make from sterilized blade to making sure the temp in Rez doesn't get too warm, to trying clonex, honey or whatever I was suggested.

Help me out a little?
Bleach/Chlorine. I have unchlorinated RO water, and went from 50% success in Rockwool to 100% with adding a bit of bleach to the RO water.

i used the clone dome w 1inch rock wool for 20 years,, i bought the clone king 36 site,, and no looking back.. clones root in 7-10 days in cloner wile dome takes 2 weeks, no dome or misting needed,, wile w dome i mist daily for the first 7-10 days...less work, easy to use, and clones root faster w a higher percentage...love the clone king,, only issues,, u need to clean the misters every run, and the clone collars need to be replaced pretty often as they shrink w each use and after a few runs they fall wright threw the holes.. i buy new collars once a year if not more.. if u use clone ex rooting solution clones root a few days faster,,but i rarely if ever use it,, just fill it w tap water and balance ph to 5.8,,, i do dip clones in powder root hormone before i put them in,, the gel might work good to but the aero jets really wash off the stems quick so its probably not needed..

If not on city water, a few drops of bleach in the water of the cloning machine will also help stave off stem rot, pythium etc. In my experience the cloning machines and Rockwool root in roughly the same amount of time 7-10 days. Prefer Rockwool trays for large amounts (100's) of clones also. Never misted my tray of Rockwool once in the 10 days they were in and they all rooted great.

I got an oxy cloner and I'm never going back to plugs or discs or soil, EVER. I went from about a 20% success rate to very close to 100.

Now granted I sucked at the conventional method, but the cloner is damn near foolproof as far as I'm concerned. No dome on mine and I just use a single 2 foot T5 bulb for light.

Since there is some water root porn on this thread, here is a Grodan cube method result using bleach + 0.6-0.8 EC (enough bleach so you can smell it in the 5 gallon bucket that you soak your cubes in beforehand, 1-2ml/5Gallon). I like cubes because they have almost no maintenance (I don't mist, you don't need to if humidity in the dome is high enough), and you can put like 400 clones (or more) under a 400watt HPS bulb. This is a clone at day 12 in 1 inch Rockwool. [Here I should add I split the cube in half to check roots at day 10 (it had roots but not like this)]. I also tried using bennies instead of bleach but the fungicide inhibits root growth. Bleach is the shit. The other take away I noticed using bleach is that unlike bennies or nothing at all, NO leaves yellowed, and basically 99-100% effective. In the cloning machines we use bleach at 1ml/5gallons. In the cloning machines we use no root stimulant, in the Grodan cubes I use the HomeGrown Hydroponics house mix. The extra root growth is certainly due to the extra aeration of splitting the cube, that is why you see the tiny white hairs that almost look like fuzz. You won't get that in unsplit rockwool or in water. Only after the roots have exited the medium and/or have proper aeration will you see that, and it is beautiful. 20170824_013310.jpg

Ok so I got a little something going feeling better today

Got two to show roots it's been 13 days, I took more cuttings did a water change, fully washed the Rez, by which there were a couple little spots at the top of the water that looked like mold, I only say this because it looks like the water Cervante guy uses to "wash" his harvest. Now I have a mild bleach h20 mix going, bigger bubbles, see how it goes..

Sorry you may have mentioned it already, but are you ph adjusting the water? If not, a ph of 5.5 is perfect for advantageous water root growth.

fwiw, I mix some clonex starting solution and mammoth-p into the res. I don't put a lot in, but something to help out is a good idea. And I do ph it.

Also, I run it in my basement which stays cool even in the summer. Keeping the res cool is key.

Your pic looks good, just give it another week. It takes 14 days to get a decent quantity of roots.
