Im running the rapid led 3 cob vero kit and it came with a piece of plexi or polycarb to protect the cobs. Ive been meaning to look into what else i could use that would filter the least and be a more long term fix. Thanks for the tip! I imagine it wont be long until that starts to get scratched, cloudy and starts diminishing light output.
The other thing about any Polycarb plastic.....Is that UV will yellow it! That reduces photon flow through the plastic
and changes the spectrum delivered!
Funny how people don't "see" things like that, when they engineer products.
Neighbor built a bad ass custom bike. Been building bikes for years. First time he machined his own steering head. I was looking at his finished triple's and wondered if he was going to chrome them. He was. I later saw him take apart the bike for paint and chrome. The forks seemed snug in the triples nice. I wondered about fit after chrome. I figured he knew what he was doing, after all, he's built bikes for over 12 years.
The parts came back from chrome and the forks would not fit in the triples..... He had to re-machine the triples and have them stripped and re-chromed...When I told him what I thought that month ago....He said "Your 2 cents is always welcome here. Wonder out loud next time.....PLEASE!"
