Week 3 flower too late to take clones?

Plants are 3 weeks into flower and showing lots of bud sites already. Plan to take some clones form the lower less mature growth shoots.

I've successfully cloned a few plants while they were in veg, but never tried after flipping to flower. Any major differences I should keep in mind?

Thanks!

I've never had much luck. The clones never really vegged right for me and always seemed to lackluster. It's probably too late, but u can give it a shot if your experimenting.

What you would be doing is called Monster Cropping. Its like revegging a flowering plant but your using the clone itself. That said, expect a very long time recovery before it goes back to normal growth. From cutting to normal growth could take 3 weeks or over a month. Once it resume its normal growth, you'll end up with a very bushy plant since each bud site will produce multiple branches. The longer you're in the flowering stage the longer it takes to grow to normal growth.

if your only 21 days from when you flipped to 12/12 you will get successful clones, especially if they are lower branches.

If you are 21 days into after seeing pistils forming (like 35 days from 12/12) youre success rate will fall for sure

it will work, like turbo tokes said, take the lower cuttings with strong branches. it will take a bit longer to root, but when it does, it will grow much faster and vigorous then a regular clone.

I'm at 21 days from flip to 12-12, maybe 10 days from pistils forming, thanks much!

Thanks for all of the input, much appreciated!

I took my clones last night, and looks like I need a re-do on many of them.

These are smaller branches than most of the clones I've taken before, I was trying to take the less developed flowers, maybe that was a mistake. Using my knockoff oxy cloner.

You could leave one flower on a branch and just put the plant outdoors to reveg naturally as the season shortens.

Why is there so much salt buildup on the lid?

When you do your cut, you have to immediately dip it at least in water and let it stay there until you're ready to put it in your cloning medium. If you expose the cuttings to air, air will get inside the stem and that's absolutely fatal to cuttings. Also, cut the leaves in half, these reduce the cuttings transpiration until they rooted and form new growth.

I've taken clones at 2-3 weeks into flowering many times. Just cloned a clone I took at 6 weeks into flowering. They'll all root eventually but take longer the longer they've been in flowering ime.

Shit many people re-veg plants after they've been harvested, that's not a lot different than cloning while in flowering.

What I do if I had to take a clone in flowering is once it's re-vegged and has normal growth, I'll clone that again, then flower them out.

I had this set up like a aero cloner but the pressure was pushing the cups out and spraying everywhere. Cleaned the lid off and what you see is what remains.

Hell yeah, Monster crop. You'll need to really baby the clones and they'll take extra time to root.
