Increase Humidity

Hi guys,

Okay, I'm struggling with humidity in my grow tent. It goes between 64% and 38% but can't keep it high for my seedlings. At the moment the seedlings are about 10mm above soil. 4 days old since seed.

The tent is 600x600x1400mm. I have a 480w lamp that's on its veg setting 24/7. A small circulation fan, a small oil heater with a thermostat that is set to turn on at 20C. And two pots of water at the moment next to the heater to try and boost humidity.

Also I'm keeping the top layer a of soil moist and spraying the sides. Not helping much for the whole time. Just short bursts of humidity.

I did have an 5" intake fan but it was too powerful and would blow my tent out and pop the fan out as the result. So have ordered a 4" fan that will be arriving soon.

Anything else I can try? Or any advice in general would be great.

Thanks.

don't over think it, in your case less is more. Your humidity is ok so for now set your fans so NO air movement is hitting your plants . Still have air move about the room but point the fan up or away from the plants and set it to low. Less air movement will slow transpiration and help your plant to not dry out so quick. Keep it simple man Keep it simple

Yeah I think you're right, the more I read the more I think I'm doing it wrong haha!

Just finding a balance on providing a good environment and letting nature do its thing.

Thanks for the advice. I will move the fan away from the plants.
