RO storage tank installation

I bought this RO unit,

And would like to hook a storage tank to it. I want to double check with you handy fellas to make sure I'm doing this right.

The filter should go directly to the tank. I need a T-Valve in between the filter and the tank with a hose coming off of that to fill my water buckets. Yes?

I'm not sure how your tank works, but my tank holds 3 gallons . It feeds from the filters to the tank and out from the tank to my reservoir with a fill valve.

It didnt come with a little 2gal tank?

Either way, heres what I did off mine...

1/4" NPT "T" fitting, and a float valve to match it. Some 1/4" hose. (Getting a ice maker hookup kit from the fridge section is a handy all in one method) (I also added a simple on/off flow valve too, for future changes n such)

Get a 32gallon Brute container... and like 4 cement blocks. Put trash can on top of blocks (u want it higher than the buckets you fill)

Valve and a chunk of hose on the bottom, float valve at the top.... always have 30gallons of water available.

most of those come with color coded lines, put the green line here, the blue line here.they also usually come with a small storage tank that has an inlet and an outlet already on it, and a small faucet to attach next to your sink. pretty easy install, even if that one doesn't cme with a tank and faucet, those are easily found

I got a tank to have for drinking if necessary but I also have sanitized buckets for the ladies' water. Some illustrations have the tank before the carbon filter? Is that possible?

you need to draw off the tank, because its not like water comes shooting out of the filters, it dribbles, so it would take hours to fill a bucket. you have to either get a bigger tank and give it a few days to fill up, or use the method suggested above.
i think the illustrations you saw were for a regular water tap attached to the set up, to give you the option of either

So how do I fill the tank then draw off of it? I have a 6 gallon RO storage tank.

Have your 1/4" filter line run into the tank with a float valve fixed to wherever you want the water line. It will shut off when filled and then a simple pump & hose in the tank to deliver wherever you need it.

Not sure of your space but size the tank up as big as you can. I have a 32gal trash can for storage and it does fine for a 200sqft/five res perpetual grow.

u can even buy a tank on amazon, i considered getting a 2nd, or a larger, and in the end went with the Brute container.

The tanks are pre-charged with air pressure, so theres only the one connection, from the output of filter to the tank, water will draw both directions as needed.

Trust me... build a res. First time you gotta fill and replace the whole room makes it SO worth it.

I grow in soil and only have about 100sq feet of plants growing in the two rooms. I have buckets that I fill but I take the lids on and off. Those I use strictly for the ladies. Now...if I want water to take into the house to use for the coffee machine I'll use the RO. The ro storage tank is sealed so I don't have to worry about cross contamination of the container or the water.

Just to be clear....I have a RO storage tank already. 6 gallons. Big enough to store water for now. Can anyone help? Was I originally right on how to install it?
