Very nice setup! And loving how your lady's are looking nice work manGot this beast put together over the past two days. The plastic should be delivered, and sitting on my porch and ready to go on tomorrow afternoon. Just in time.
Haven't posted since last year but thought I'd share. Things seem a few weeks behind this year...curious to hear if other people are experiencing the same. I'm in the corvallis area. Two tired ladies, have been losing fan leaves for a few weeks. Probably need one more round of nutrients. Both plants are from a sugar black rose lady from last year, other half of genetics windblown and unknown. Interesting that the seeds came from the same plant but the pistols look so different. Smelling Good!
My Amnesia Hashplant did start to bud earlier than any outdoor plant I've grown, but it is (as I mentioned) a couple of weeks behind OGS's claim for when it finishes -- and it's dropping a handful of leaves per day. Massive yellowing... but I figured I probably did something wrong in terms of the soil mix or the way/amount I've been feeding and/or watering it. The cold overcast long spring seemed to get things off to a slow start. ALL of the autos I grew took significantly longer than they were supposed to.Haven't posted since last year but thought I'd share. Same battle different year. I had high hopes this year for an earlier harvest, I'm convinced that there is little that will finish in Sept on the wet side. I went with strains that are supposed to finish in Sept. The only one I have that has a chance of even being close is the R2 Poison and I just cut out a few spots of botrytis from it. Every year is the same shit to deal with, put all the time and effort into growing an organic healthy plant just to chop it early. Might just do Autos outside next year.I bought a bunch of OGS seeds that were supposed to finish early, so I had no plans on building any covers this year. I live near the Gorge, so I can't just toss up some hoops and throw some plastic over it, I have to build something that can handle at least 20mph winds, and at night late Sept/early Oct, they can kick up to 30-35mph.
The Amnesia Hashplant was "supposed" to finish first to second week in September, but that has come and gone and it has 2-3 week to go, so it's either cover her or probably lose her. Y'all inspired me and we went through the reclaimed wood pile and cobbled together a shelter for her. The other plant (Dream Catcher) has 4+ weeks left, so there is basically zero chance she'll finish, so we didn't bother building her a shelter, there's only so much wood in the pile. The roof is from some cold frames, so it's shape isn't perfect but we'll work with it. We'll probably close the sides partially with sheet plastic that we can roll up on clear days for air movement, and close down on rainy days.
Good luck to us all!

This was my first year experimenting with autos, all of them took longer than advertised except the Qtr Pounder auto. I chopped it at 83 days and ended up with almost 3oz of really good smoke(very impressed). Might just do 2 photos in my GH and 8 autos outside next year.My Amnesia Hashplant did start to bud earlier than any outdoor plant I've grown, but it is (as I mentioned) a couple of weeks behind OGS's claim for when it finishes -- and it's dropping a handful of leaves per day. This is only my third year growing outdoors, but so far in the first two everything I was able to harvest was taken down before the end of the first week in October, after that nothing remaining either finished or was salvageable (mold/PM). I have gotten better at making covers/shelters, but nothing I've done is even close to an actual greenhouse. So, based on my limited experience and structure limitations, I don't look past the first week of October. I've seen several people on here with diligent spraying and decent plastic covers take their girls deep into October, I just haven't been able to pull that off yet.My latest plant started flowering august 25th. My earliest kicked over on August 10th. I've had the normal amount of yellowing on each plant. Nothing worrisome. My obama should be done within 3 weeks. The cherry pie around the 15th of October. The others are at risk of going the long haul.
All of my auto seeds were freebies from MidweeksongI had the same thought -- about just doing autos next year -- but the results of my first run with autos this was not impressive. It does seem like the perfect solution. What strains did you grow? The patient I grow for (happens to be my wife) is a 30+ year smoker with the tolerance through the roof, so I need the best the industry has to offer in terms of potency. If I can get a big enough crop going from autos to make hash from it, then it might be worth going that route next year, but I can't have her smoking twice as much because the bud is weak. Thanks for sharing about the R2, I was contemplating trying that source next year but it sounds to be about the same as the OGS strains. I'm sure they do really well in southern Oregon.
I did buy some Mephisto auto seeds, but haven't popped any yet. I was going to do the whole colloidal silver thing and try and breed more seeds from them this winter, but I have limited indoor space so for now I think I'm going to focus on growing enough indoors (packing in two winter runs back-to-back) to last the whole year, and breeding photos. When I've had even partially successful outdoor grows, the sheer bulk of product is incredible, but the whole season coming down to the last few weeks and then the processing of bud that is focused on cutting out worm damage and mold, sucks. I'm sure someone will jump on and say that if I'm having that much difficulty than I'm not doing it right... maybe so. But it is what it is. Someday I might get to building that greenhouse I've talked about, but its not a top priority at this point in time.
I was getting kind of bored and burned out on growing altogether, and then I started making my own strains, and that's made it interesting for me again. It's a stupidly long process and takes a bunch of space to pull it off, but I've got original beans popping right now for my first winter run and its the aspect of growing that's putting a smile on my face, so I'll take it.
Lookin good BD. Just a heads up, beware of condensation. These structures sweat like crazy. I put up a liner of cheap clear painters plastic last season which helped a lot. This year I'm lining the top with lightweight row crop cover with lots of fan circulation.Got this beast put together over the past two days. It'll be fully open all the way around pretty much. Not too worried about moisture build up. I'm using 6 mil opaque poly plastic. My only concern is keeping the water off them directly. I didn't have any issues with condensation or dripping last year. My longest plant stayed out until oct 23rd last year. Zero mold or issues, my only mold issues came from worm damage which I hope to fix this year with the addiction of BT.Lookin good BD. Just a heads up, beware of condensation. My wife is all about sativa/sativa-dominant hybrids, so I tried to stick with those (got one indica dom for before sleep) -- so the Mephistos are: Chemdogging, Skystomper, and Skylar White. When I got them Mephisto was either out of stock or doing some re-stocking, but their online store was shut down, so I got them from a local distributor (SeedsHereNow). I'm sure I paid too much, but they were expensive enough that I only got 3 seeds of each strain. I might try one each indoors during my second winter run, I'll have to see how the tent space resolves itself (depending on how the first run goes). The ones I ran outdoors this summer were: Blueberry (a freebie), Mohan Ram, Blue Mammoth, Dark Devil, and Berry Ryder (freebie from a friend). The Berry Ryder was 3x the size of the others but I lost about 1/3 of it to worms. Those were all just meh... they are in the hash pile for the next batch that I do. Not a lot of frost on them, very larfy, not a lot of mass at all. The last ones came down right about at 14 weeks! All of my auto seeds were freebies from Midweeksong
Spanish seeds..Purple and Blueberry, nice indica smoke got less than 2oz between the two.
Unknown.. Amnesia Pink Diesel, not impressed got 30 grams.
Canuk seeds..Quarter Pounder, I will grow this again fairly potent sativa dom ended up with 2 3/4oz of nice large bud.
I've heard nothing but good about Mephisto. Which ones did you get, are you gonna run them indoors first?
I feel like I need to say I'm not that disappointed with Getaways strains so far. They are weeks ahead of most that I have grown. The R2 Poison has a very dense bud structure perfect environment for bud rot, so I'm not to surprised by it. The others are progressing very quickly with no issues so far. It is realistic that I can reach maturity with a few of these within the first week of Oct.
