Have any of you guys used this stuff extensively before? I bought a few bags because they were out of the mix I usually get down the street, so far I'm a fan of it-at least for transplanting my clones. I mixed in about 20% ancient forest since its my tea base anyways and it's still very light and airy. I've never had clones take off as fast as the ones I put in this, it's definitely not as hot as ffof i haven't given them anything but 2 waterings of tea with kelp extract and a little bit of fish emulsion. The pots drain really nice and dry out much quicker than my old soil which usually is promix with ancient/ocean forest and about 10-15% large perlite added. my only concern is that it seems to be really lose even after packing and watering a little, will the root mass help sturdy this up in early/mid veg? Do I need to plan on supporting my plants more than normal?
Also I'm fairly new to growing organically and admittedly only growing mostly organically right now anyways. I still use a few other products and I'm guilty of liking big bloom, kelp me kelp you, and wholly mackerel to supplement if things look deficient. I also still use my heavy 16 prime, finish, cannazym, and a synthetic PK boost two or three times over the course of flower. Both prime and finish gave me very good results before and I had used prime to brew my teas for months before switching to molasses with no issues so I figured it's impact on microbial life in the quantity I use is minimal--at most 2mL/gal. I really have been looking to add a foliar spray for photosynthesis and possibly as a micronutrient supplement but would prefer to go organic here as I think I may switch to totally organic for soil grows.
My tea is a variation of heisenbergs beneficial AACT and consists of:
1cup/g ancient forest
.5 tsp/g great white
.5tsp/g og biowar/caps foliar
1tbsp unsulphered molasses(or 2.5mL/gal prime)
Usually brewed in my dehumidifier water for 36-48 hours with a heating pad on low underneath to keep temps mid 70s. Then watered down to between 1-2 cups per gallon afterwards. I water the plants until I see runoff then stop usually and water only when the soil is dry every 2-3 days.
So with that being said I'm curious if anyone has suggestions for a spray, a replacement organic PK boost or soil amendment to replace it, and mostly just a suitable replacement for big blossom if necessary, I plan on buying some organic kelp meal and a different fish emulsion as soon as I use up the last of the FF nutes I have.
On a side note with the pk boost I've read that bat guano and seabird guano are good but also not very eco friendly or sustainable. If thats the case I would like to try to at least minimize my use of them if I can't outright replace them.
