New Member, First Grow!

Hi everyone this is my first post, I just wanted to share my first grow and get some good info/tips you experienced growers might have to share. My plants are currently only 2 weeks old from sprout. I am growing in my closet. They are in Kellogg's organic patio plus soil with added perlite, 2 gal pots, under a cfl hood i built. I ordered a 600w hps air cooled hood with ducting and inline fan. I have also ordered other essentials like: fox farms trio nutrients, ph up and down, ph meter, and humidity and temp reader. The experiance so far has been great and I am exited to see how well it goes.

Thank you! I have a fan blowing through my closet vent for now. I just can't seal the door to make it light proof till my equipment arrives. Oh and quick question I just noticed I have a couple little holes in some of the leaves, do you know a good way to keep bugs away from my plants. Also my leaves are dark green and drooping at the end. I read that it was a nitrogen toxicity but I haven't added nutrients yet. I hope it's just a ph imbalance but I won't know till my reader comes in the mail.

They look good watch overwatering. Only water when the pots are light. You dont have a nitro problem

I agree with dynamo.dont over water them let it dry out pretty good and pick up the pots and notice how lit they feel compared to when they get the water.as for the bugs i really cant help on that too much.i like to keep all leaves from tooking the soil or edge of pots so nothing can crawl up on them and i also use diamethes earth food grade.now this is what i do others may have a better answer for ya.i have not had any problems with bugs so far and i hope that i dont.more than likely there is a thread on the subject and i recomend researching it throughly.i hope the best for ya and im watching to see how it goes.

Thank you both, I will definitely keep everyone updated. Just got my nutrients, ph meter, and ducting in the mail. The rest should be in within a week. I'll take pictures of everything up and running and see what you guys think and what changes should be made.

I found the bug putting holes in my plants, I sent that little basturd to hell. Anyways I just gave them nutrients for the first time, I only mixed 1/3 of what is recommended. Measured ph and it was at 6 so hopefully I'll see some life come back to my plants.

Update I got my closet all set up for now with my 600 watt mh over my plants. They started getting root bound so I transplanted to bigger pots. My problem is that they're still drooping. Some plants are getting better slowly, but some not so much. If anyone can look at these pics and know the issue please let me know.

They look kinda warm. Need to know soil and feeding info for any real help. Humidity looks off also.

It's rare for there to be only 1 bug. I'd inspect my soil and plants top and bottom. Set up some yellow stickycards that will give you a general idea of how many and what you have if you do. I usually put fresh cards up every transplant or move, it's a cheap effective way to quickly see if you need to deal with a pest issue.

Also always neem proactively, a lot of the worse problems you can get are hard to get under control if they're already established.

Good luck, my first grows biggest hurdle was cooling and humidity. Just be sure to have that handled in bloom. I had 4 plants in a 4x4 under a 1000w that took my entire house from about 40%rh to over 80%, dont underestimate how much your plants transpire.

Looks like most of have lockout due to the yellowish bottoms also when u transplant leave em in the dark for a fee hours or raise the light to harden em off

They're in Kelloggs patio plus organic soil with added perlite, I usually keep my plants around 75 degrees during the day. I think I overwatered them before and they have just stayed droopy since then. I took the humidifier out of my grow space because of the bugs/overwater. So it's usually around 35-40%

I have been treating my plants by spraying them with soapy water. I don't have any more signs of bugs. I just want my plants to look happy again.

I adjust my ph to 6.0-6.5

Check the ph of your run off. If you have a tds meter check that to. If the run off is under 5 or over 7 thats a problem. If the ppm of the run off is more than 200 over what your feeding then thats the start of salt build up

I just took a soil sample it ph'd around 6.5. I've been letting my plants dry out and they're getting better slowly day by day. I just think I have a nitrogen deficiency or toxicity problem.
