Aussie Growers Thread

It might not be what some people would call an heirloom variety but it must be pretty damn close. Those are the type of strains us Ozzies don't seem to have,not sure whether it was a lack of knowledge or more so the legal environment or what but there isn't many if any heirloom strains getting around over here,sure there is Mullimbimby madness but it seems almost like a generic name there seems like there is a few different versions,and a couple of others,but nothing like the guys over in the U.S. I'm not bagging the growers over here just an observation

Another thing I think may have been a bit of a downfall in the end,at least in my area was a lot of the old guys my dads age were growing stuff that had a fair amount of Thai genetics which made the weed super strong and cerebral but also very hermi prone

Yeah we don't have much of our own stuff here. Ducks foot is probably the only other I can think of besides the Mullum.

And from my experience with it ducks foot was more of a novelty strain,other than the webbed leaves it was pretty ordinary

Dutch passion star ryders would be worth a look at especially if you only have a small area and want some autos that resemble small xmas tree sidebranching

What's so tough about that choice just cross all the autos of the list and grow the the ones that are left lol just fucking with u, grow the Mephisto's lm interested to see how they go

A lot of the Thai In my area in the 90s was seeded stuff for a fair while

Yeah forgot to cross them off the list they are all currently growing. Had issues with germ but got 4 DG, 1 of the white train and an auto blues. Day 17 looking good. Microtopped 2 of them.

I don't think I'll ever go back to growing photos lol. Happy to swap if anyone wants them?

That sr71 is from old stock though,that's why I consider that to be a really special bunch of seeds you have.

Yep, I'm with you mate, those Sr71 are some very special beans for sure. @ruby fruit once I'm settled, I'd love to do some work with them. I have some other special beans I think they would work well with

Doesn't mean we couldn't still breed in some flavor and potency.

Do you rate Mephisto's gear or have they just got more hype around them and there is better breeders for autos ?

first time growing them but heard nothing but good things, apart from the issues germing which i put down to my newbie self more then anything. they are going great so far and yeah they are pretty highly rated as one of the best for autos. i'd say fastbuds/mephiso/dinafem/dutch passion are top of my list for best auto breeders.

Nothing stopping us from having a bit of fun chucking some pollen around and making some seeds for ourselves and friends
