Marijuana task-force member's move to legal weed company raises conflict-of-interest concerns

My letter to the author of this article ( I attached my list) - and his response
" I recognized the strangely large number of former politicians and senior civil servants who are now involved in legal cannabis businesses about two years ago, and compiled a list. There are former top cops, provincial premiers, Health Canada officials, a sitting senator and even a former prime minister.
The entire Liberal legalization plan is a conflict of interest and is doomed for failure.
Those in the cannabis culture are not going to embrace those who formerly arrested them. Here is the list - it's almost 2 years old and names can be added."

"Thanks for this. Keep me updated if you come across anything new as well."

Make sure you give those reporters the links to this sub forum so they can keep up to date with all your organizational efforts in mobilizing your community for your great cause!

And ask your local politicians to post their opinions on your threads. Tell them you want to know and if they don't then the entire community isn't going to vote for them.

I really doubt we need your advice on mobilizing anyone for our cause. We've been doing it for 30 or 40 years you dumb fuck.

I think Davies and that reporter also need to be made aware of the expiration dates on licenses being back dated to the date the Dr signed. That isn't done with any other scripts. Especially considering its a REGISTRATION not an application. If you have a Dr who signed then you are approved. Beyond that all they should need to do is confirm your personal info and call your Dr to verify the info on their recommendation. Done, approved, end of process. So wtf is taking them so long? It doesn't take 4-6 months to do that, and anyone saying otherwise has never worked in a clinical setting or has no fucking clue. There's such thing as a bit of a delay and then there's foot dragging.

Because of all this they've created a perpetually growing back log with ever increasing wait times instead of just giving people the FULL 12 months the damn registration is good for. Now you have renewals coming in months ahead of time to account for wait times, which ironically adds to wait times.

I doubt Vice cares that a bunch of black market criminals are complaining that they can't get high plant count scripts and a license to grow in the same afternoon. It might be a good expose and put pressure on the Feds to tighten up the program.

The vast majority of patients authorized under ACMPR are very pleased with how the program is running. Sure it might take a little while after you apply to get your license but what government programs doesn't take time to go through its process? We need those processes in place to reduce fraud perpetrated by the black market and criminal elements especially in any system where there is significant financial gain.

If you don't have a criminal record and are a respectable law abiding tax paying citizen then the ACMPR process is fine. Renewals are a snap. The people on the information line are quite nice once they realize that you are not just some scumbag that is going to yell at them about supposed rights they think they have.

HC has been quite clear as to what causes delays in processing. Incomplete forms, missing dates, a criminal record, etc all of which cause delays. If you can't spell your own name right then you probably shouldn't be growing anything.
