I believe these COB's have a feature that fits me and how I grow better. That is if I want more light just hang another one, if I need less, take one down, no dimming, screwing with spectrum, etc. Also Stupid easy to adjust them individually for distance to canopy (thing I like most). When you are always running different strains at different stages in life this ability to adjust like this is godsend in my opinion. Also they're relatively cheap to add a few at a time if you can't just plop down a ton of cash. Lights are dead silent, super cool, efficient, and they work.

Nothing against the QB's this just works "better" in this situation "for me".

Thanks and I already explained the nothing lol. Little by little man next order will fill half the 4x8 and I will be doing a comparison flower run with the 600 watt hps. But for now want to get some time with the flower tent as is because there's no denying the monsters growing in there. This will let me get some more runs start to finish with my autos under the COB'S now too.

I love those individual fixtures for much the same reason. Swapped out all my veg lights except one tent to these single passive COB fixtures so far and very happy with them. They're so easy to setup/move/arrange as you need them and cool which is great for my smaller veg spaces.

Two separate things here.

Yes the GG#4 was vegging fine under the COB's problem is they were too big for the 3x3, in the future I want to try my first SCROG and get just one about as big as mine are in one of the 3x3's to see how I do lot's of exciting stuff planned for the future I always like trying new stuff and learning.

As for the auto's..........this is a "theory" myself and a fellow member @Big smo have been toying with for a while. I like running my auto's with lights on 24/7. When you calculate the amount of "time on" with light this way, it is my opinion that you do not need as much at the source because the plants are constantly getting blasted. I really feel this is a big thing with why my auto's with the COB's have been doing so well. My last dried and cured auto gave me 5 zips under 245 watts of light, and really just one of the Auto Cob's over it the entire time and the residual light from the other 3. I also do believe that my situation inside the tents helps with the reflective walls etc. Anyhow my last few auto's under the COB's have smashed the breeders recommended harvest numbers and I like that.

Pics of said Auto, Narcotic Kush, and she was such a beast from the get go I used her for breeding so if not I believe the yield would have been higher. This was a seed I got for free with an order last year and was sitting around:

I had the cord for a long time before I finally managed to tackle this easy project, took less than 10 mins and that includes hanging and getting it turned on. It could have only been easier if I hadn't had to remove a couple screws and uninstall and reinstall the cord relief or keeper. It was super simple just like a normal lamp socket of any kind and the colors even matched so I didn't have to worry a bit. I just had personal shit hit the proverbial fan, as always, and got depressed and procrastinated until I had no choice and it should have been done a long time ago. Very easy and worked perfectly.

I did notice when I was fixing it that the hood actually has a channel for glass but it isn't vented. Should I replace the glass and iff so, would normal window pane stuff from casa De pot suffice?

Got it cranked up and then checked back, seems a little hotter than even 3 x 600w and 1 x 300 watt led all running together, so I cranked ti back to 400 and it seems find and dandy if still a little warm. I may even be able to cut it back to the 50% setting, 300w but I'll monitor.

Other good news is the flower tent is looking way better this run even the same plants that were shitty last run, larfy and lacked frost, average shit at best, not the least bit stellar. Not a keeper yet but I have some about half done I think will be lots lots better.

Brother Evil you would be proud, and I should have taken a pic. I have been doing some pretty heavy defoliation lately and it seems to help a great deal.

I need to get comfortable with the new things, get used to my new setup and parameters and get a good cycle going and get to a point where I can start dialing shit in and perfecting what I have so I can then start playing with the details to see what improves and what declines. I know the color sucks but I can't adjust the white balance on my phone and it also takes blurry pics a lot, I can't hold still enough and don't think even if it was mounted it would take a good pic.

I will eventually get my camera out and play with the white balance, install the macro lens and take you guys at least a couple of proper pics

No need to worry about glass on the non-air cooed hood unless your running a Metal Halide or other lamp not rated for "open fixture" usage.
Most hps are ok in open fixtures and you get a touch more light to the plants without the glass :hump:
