So Tom Price has resigned. Sure, there will be plenty of news about it, but it strikes me that if this happened during a Democratic admin it would become a never-ending campaign mantra on par with Obama's "if you like your doctor" statement or Benghazi!

Other Trump officials have made similar use of chartered jets at taxpayer expense but have been smart enough to have better excuses. Trump is golfing his ass off and spending secret service money at six times Obama's rate - all of which were major whining points for Republicans. Trump has been caught flat-footed in hundreds of lies none of which bother Republicans in the least.

A black man is a son of a bitch for taking the knee during the anthem and Kid Rock is planning a run for Senate despite wearing a flag as a poncho during a Super Bowl halftime. I still remember Abby Hoffman being called a traitor for wearing a shirt with a flag pattern.

A so called progressive who posts here says if we only stop talking about racism it would go away.

Sanders supporters think an opinion poll is more important than an election.

Trump gets a pass at saying simply awful things while saying that KKK murderers are really good people. Meanwhile as you say, a false news story about a doctor's statement becomes the most important headline of the week. This country is filled with people who are more racist, more conservative and less intelligent than I'd prefer to believe.

The age of fake news and belief over facts are upon us.

You are describing quite well what is going to happen. I'm extremely disappointed in how resilient racism is in this country and put the blame squarely on the white baby boomers who make up the majority of NFL fans. I guess I can look at the progress made over the decades in that 51% don't disapprove.

Unless you're proposing rolling out the thought-police, I don't think racism will ever be fully eradicated. There will always be people that have prejudices towards others. It's a human condition. I agree with educating kids to be accepting of others, and I agree that the govt should play a role in ensuring that govt agencies and businesses are free from prejudiced practices/policies, but individuals, and their thinking can't be controlled. There will always be people that hate over skin color, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, etc. EVERY group of people in this country contributes to this problem. Pretending that it's going to magically be wiped away is ignoring reality. Maybe it can be marginalized to a degree, but it will never be eliminated.

Germany has made great progress and isn't done. The problem will take more than one generation to address.

Hate speech isn't free speech and Germany has the right policy regarding it. .
