Hi guys new to the forum so hello to you all
This is an auto question but I just thought might get an all round better opinion in here.
I wanted to know how long do autos actually take during flower
I have two which are just over 7 weeks in flower so 52/3ish days
Can they really take much longer than that
As I'm thinking of giving them the chop
But naturally don't wanna do that two early
It's a Hindu kush and a northern lights

Usually you can chop your autos after 12-14 weeks from germinating the seed depending on strain. On Sensi Seeds website, they claim the Hindu Kush AUTO can be harvest after just 45 - 50 days in flower while Northern Lights AUTO takes 50-60 days in the flowering cycle. Do you have any pics? They really do speak 1,000 words.

assuming your gardening is as well controlled as the breeder of your seeds they will finish in the time frame the breeder tells you. thats my experience with several hundred different strains/breeders.
you can take a sample and dry it/smoke it early of course no worries. allowing it to grow for at least as long as the rec will give you best results.
as they properly mature water uptake decreases, pistils recede, trichomes become solid cloudy, lower leaves may begin to fade.
if you see this, and you're at the finish date the breeder says.....cut it

I think these look ready but closer pictures of the buds might get a more precise opinion :-) Nl looks slightly fatheralong than the hindu...

Looks good from the pic. But the only way to really tell is to look at the trichomes. Are they mostly cloudy with a few turning amber and a few clear? chop it.

I don't get it. Not at all....

What the hell is this "days" bull shit anyway?

A plant is done, when it's done...period. I don't care if it's an auto or a photo.

Environmental differences change everything!
An Auto grow outdoors will take longer then if ran indoors.

Early harvesting of any plant being grown for true quality and potential, is just plain "your loss".
ANY strain I've ever run. Is run for at least 2 weeks longer then most of you would think!
New "uber" potent strains - don't amber up!
Learning to "see" done is something you learn. Books and words of explanation help but, YOU have to do the experiments to learn it!

It's NOT done! 2-3 weeks at least! And "I" never saw the plant!

Wow doc, blood pressure pills not working? Careful there buddy lol. If you haven't noticed time has become very important these "days" and the good thing about these threads is I think it's educating people to not pull to early. Well that's my thoughts anyways. It's still hard for people to leave the things in the ground. I think there is to much emphasis on triches rather than the whole plant.

?? It's fine, and I'm not having a fit either. Just informing truth.

Unless your running a commercial op, and running the same strains over and over. Along with having very strict control over your environment. Days are meaningless.
Days are meaningless to SOG too, as you flip by the height of the plant, not days run..

Days run are meaningless Budley. I simply never bother to count. I just look for the signs of "close" and then harvest the day after I find "ready"...

I got 4 plants that are in the "close" right now. 1 ambers, the other not. I'm around 2 weeks out. Still bulking well.

Ya me too. Even when I was working it was done when done so the commercial thing had zero relevance for me, but that was all outdoor, also, for twenty years I looked at the plant, not the triches. The whole, "when is it ready" thing is due to the more of an understanding as to benefits of proper harvest time IMO. That's fine but it's gotten to be more about time than the actual plant itself. I tend to get it a bit early as I am typically running out :(.

I find that when my bud starts to take on an amber colour all over i've gone a little too far.

When i start to see patches of amber i know i'm about perfect.
