lol it seems to be commen knoledge that it flouts but im also hearing every where that it breaks down into tini tiny bits and aparently turns into cement i could be wrong im just hearing it alot from all the no till dudes
It will rise up in the soil over time but it's advantages far outweigh it hat small disadvantage there's plenty of people that use it so we all can't be wrong can we ?

I know you want the "best" soil to give you the highest terms and AAAAAA+ bud but when you have a go on Ruby's Sour Kush that hasn't got some of these things in it ,then come back and tell me if you still think you can't grow high grade if you haven't put them in,guys like @ruby fruit could probably grow good weed in a $3 bag of potting mix from woolies. You don't grow quality dope by following a list, soil is just one part of the equation
Easiest plant I ever grew was skunk in a pot outdoors with bagged soil. No deficiencies, only added water and got a couple ounces. Good smoke too

okay im all ears what about seamungus castings coco and airation would that still be over kill
Next part is minerals you've got rock dust so that's covered gypsum is cheap like under $2 a kilo use that, you could also add some oyster shell flour and basalt but if you can't get hold of them easily and affordable don't worry about them

I think that gigs rock dust is a pretty basalt heavy blend. I think I have the same shit in the shed somewhere. They make it up the coast. Could be mistaken though - daylight savings is fucking with my brain

Bit of a pump up the coco cheers mate
But yes @giglewigle if I had to break down my grow I would say my nice tasting bud comes from 30% genes/strain
40% soil mix.... organic is best but there's a lot of us out there i would put in the 80% organic category
That leaves 30% drying and curing
Your gonna grow nice tasting bud you need to finish it off with a nice cure.
Anyone can dry and sell/smoke but I and quite a few of my mates cure properly.
Sometimes a proper cure can turn lower grade into something a lot better

thats a good point idk at this point ill do what u guys say but i atleast wanna use some seamungus lol
Last part is nutrients Kelp,Neem, crustacean and alfalfa meals, but like all other things if you can't get hold of them substitute it won't fuck up the mix 99% of the time. Seamungus has a lot of humic acid and kelp so you could leave kelp out but I wouldn't ,if I only added 1 thing to a store bought potting mix it would be kelp. Neem is top stuff but its not the easiest thing to get hold of,crustacean meal I found impossible to find or wasn't willing do be ass raped on price so I left it out alfalfa is another that is a luxury more than a necessityplenty of other ways to add N

Mate have a look at the hundreds and thousands maybe even millions of pounds grown in California this year at least 75% would be grown in peat based soil mixes

Gigs everyone to thier own mate but I get by each year and I've never used oyster stuff, dolomite, gypsum, rock dust or coco etc for that matter.
If i was broke tomorrow and needed to make a half decent cheapish mix I would buy cheap potting mix, perlite, seamungus pellets and a bottle of power feed.
And walla....u now have a soil mix that can grow a big plant if u desire.
It's as easy as that....that soil mix is where a gd strain comes into it to help

You know what I'm saying lol @giglewigle don't think I'd be wrong if I said the main reason we all grow or what got us into it and kept us in it is we love the plant and take enjoyment from growing it,it should be fun dodging cops and stopping rippers and stuff is stressful enough you don't need to stress over every thing that you do with it just enjoy it bro :)
