Flowering/lighting

I'm growing 4 plants indoor and my plants have been in flower/12/12 since September 17th. One of my plants is super tall and like 5 inches away from the light and I'm using a 1000 watt HPS light. I don't want my plant to get any heat stress since it is so close so my question is can I take away An hour of light and give it an extra hour of dark? So 11 hrs of light and 13 hrs of dark, will it still flower durring that cycle or will that be abit much for the plants?

Just slowly bend and manipulate the main stalk to where it will be about 12 inches ftom light. I forget the official terminology.
If you look closley in the back n white picture, I have my plants tied up with some fishing line so it is pulled away from the light as much as possible, it's a pretty thick stem so I didn't really think I could bend it that far down.

literally, pinch the stalk, roll it between your fingers and slowly bend it down, tie it in place. plant wont get stressed, but the top that gets burned will turn brown and crispy. consider relocating it in the space too, or tipping the pot, or tying it down to a stake or groweedeasy.com

Even with how big and mature my plant is? It's 3-4 weeks into flower also

Supercrop it. Crunch the stem with your finger and bend it over. It will be growing back up the next day.

Ive done it at that stage in flower no problem... More stressful on a grower than the plant themselves. U should be fine.

I just tried it and I couldn't get it to bend at all, I tried like pinching and bending but it's super thick and strong?!

I think its the perfect time to do this. you can wait a couple hours after the next watering, during a full moon too, maybe makes the stem more pliable. I never give it much thought though, I grab it pinch hard twist and force it into place.

  1. Grab the branch and squeeze with firm pressure between your thumb and forefinger, as if you're trying to crush the stem where you want it to bend. This helps "loosen" the joint you are about to make.

  2. Wiggle the stem between your fingers slowly back and forth for 10+ seconds while maintaining pressure, to loosen it up where you want it to bend.

  3. Continue wiggling until it feels like the inside of the stem has softened. The stem should feel pliable and loose at the joint you just made.

  4. Slowly and gently bend over stem towards the direction you want, and secure in place.

plant burns
you learns
I've been keeping a close eye on I think everyday, if I start to notice any heat stress or burning I will make adjustments, I've just never done super cropping, I mean it sounds easy just my stem width is super thick and couldn't squeeeze it at all, I squeezed super hard and their was no give to it what so ever

you could poke a hole in the side of your container and loop some twine through up to and around the top of the plant. pull tight until the plant top is to the lower desired height.
