How long do you let the butane sit in the column. I did a run in a mason jar a let the first wash sit for around 10-15min the second more around 20min. Seems like it could have sat longer without losing fluid level. It came out amazing, I've been getting stuff from colorado dispensary and pretty much blew any of that away. I did a fresh frozen since I had stuff to harvest as well as dry, the dry I whipped into crumble and was my fav. No purge vac just heat flashing for 2 days then whippingit dont work that way...
BUT, if ur in the market, just shop bestvaluevacs.... u can start off with a closed column setup that can be made into part of a closed loop later if ya get into it, and have the funds.
I don't know you and your knowledge and you don't know mine. I've done plenty of research and get packets from Colorado dispensary that didn't look or smoke as well as what I made. Your wrong about the soak time, I've watched videos of people in labs do a soak for 30min to an hour at -0 temps on the column, that is dewaxingAnd you put that shit in your body!? Find a lab... have your shit tested. Its full of nasties....
Whats the losing fluid level thing? Whats that even supposed to mean? Whatever you think it means, it don't, forget it.
First, only takes a minute or 3, much more than that, and the butane starts breaking down the chlorophyll causing harsh taste, dark color, and just plain contaminates a good oil....
Get. A. Vac. Chamber.
Thats not a suggestion you suicidal fool.... people kill or badly fuck themselves up by doing the kind of seat-of-the-pants game playing you are with anything explosive/combustible/toxic.
I don't smoke my shatter after 2 days under full vac, and you went 2 days of 'heat flashing' and then whipped the remaining butane into a nice airy wax/budder?
Seriously, don't make another batch until you have taken the time to learn how to do it, or we may never see another post from you again... and you will fuel the argument that cannabis is dangerous, and home growers and processors shouldn't be allowed.
When holding a can of butane... ur holding a fucking bomb bro.... know what you are doing before you go playing with it.
(Also look into winterizing, which may help to rescue batches like the black goo I envision came from your.... mason jars....
So the column with the material and dry ice is just to keep the trichomes cold for easier extraction? I thought it was also to help dewaxing, I know it needs to be mixed with ethanol and frozen then run through filters and cleaned up. I know what I made is clean, I've smoked that dark harsh stuff and mine has none of that or sizzle. I don't even know how they make that dark stuff, either the trim is crap or too much heat or it's an ethanol run.I think to effectively dewax it has to be colder than that and for over 2 hours. But you dont inline dewax with the material soaking, you have a empty chamber that holds the butane /oil cold for a couple hours while the waxes crystallize.
