Hi Guys. A noob to this forum & growing. I have 4 DB plants which are currently standing at about 5 to 6 feet in hight & they look really healthy.

I'm growing in Essex UK & its just starting to bud we started them back in may once the buds start how long do they usually take to mature or how long should i leave them?

I hope not starting them until May wasn't too late for them.

All 4 plants are in large pots on a first floor balcony with an automatic watering system which waters them for 5 mins at dusk & dawn.

I have never topped them or clipped any leaves or stems back i just left them to grow by themselves.

Any advice or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance IMG_3585.JPG IMG_3586.JPG IMG_3587.JPG

I would trim the lower leaves near the base so the nutrients from the soil go straight to the buds.

by the looks of your pictures it looks like they have about 4-5 weeks left before you should crop.

Are you using any nutrients?

What about letting the plant pull mobile nutes from those bottom leaves so you have a buffer? That way you will know what they need? Seems foolish to destroy something so valuable.

Those look to be in week 2ish of flower. You have at least 6 weeks to go depending on the strain. Indica usually take around 8 weeks. I'm Not sure of your climate over there, hopefully it's sunny

The top bud has been flowering since August 10th (first sight of hairs) the bottom bud august 18th. The bottom bud (cherry pie) will harvest around, or after October 15th.

Thank you for the replies guys much appreciated.

I think the climate may become a problem here in UK it is starting to get a little colder thats why i'm asking how long.

What nutrients are you guys suggesting?

I have not used anything at all i have just left them to grow au natural in large pots on my balcony.

Would trimming those leaves help the budding process? someone told me to trim off most of the leaves so the plants have more energy to bud also i was told to lock them away in a blacked out room during the night & just open the door during the daylight but i thought i had better ask if this is correct or not?

Because of the weather i'm thinking about moving them into a shed if its going to be a late October harvest god knows how though as they are all about 6 foot high & the pots weigh a ton lol.

Hello. Glad to see a UK outdoor grower. I'm up North and I'm considering doing this myself next May. I've never grown anything before so I'd like to do something similar to you. Keep us updated!

Thank you for all the responses much appreciated.

Ok do I have a problem here?

The weather turned a little so I moved all 4 plants into our summerhouse just last week but since then the buds are all getting covered in this stuff should I be worried?
Your next steps are as follows.

Find an open space to lay a bunch of wood, get a large amount of gas. Pour the gas all over the wood. Light that shit on fire! Now go get those plants and throw them right on top of that fire.

Those plants are well beyond fucked up. It takes rot a bit to get to that stage. You need to keep a much closer eye on things next attempt.

There was not one bit of that when they were outside i put them in there literally 7 days ago they were out on my balcony before that. They have been getting automatically watered & when i checked 2 days ago i saw none of that at all. Yes it must have been there otherwise it wouldn't have done this but this has happened as far as i have seen in the last 48 hours.

Unless you had artificial lighting in the summerhouse and fans and ventilation to promote air movement, you would have been better off leaving it outside and giving it a shake off every morning after the rain and just let them do there own thing. Maybe go for an auto flower variety next year start in mid may and harvest by late august?

Got something similar few years ago on white widow when it was raining heavy for 2 weeks straight and i wasn't able to cut them down or take care of them at that time. These things doesn't happen in 2 days mate, it takes time to develop that kind of mold, you have to be blind *miskuzi* to not seen it before. And yeah burn them down in the fire pit, never smoke anything like this, it can end with some serious lung infection as the toxins that is in the mold can easily transfer to your body and find a new home there, don't even think about it bro!

Look for some more mold resistant strains for where you're living, i had a blast with all kinds of blueberry strains, hazes ( Silver and Purple) and skunks. Also White Widow is the bomb in greenhouse! Some seed shops offer you to make advanced search and search for a seeds for "cold climate", give them a try. ;)

Edit : also just harvested Pineapple Purps, fellow grower from Canada sent me 3 seeds and all of them grew really nicely, even in week long rain period and the temp dropped around 5 celsius for few days, it just made the buds sexxy purple.. Little leafy in buds i guess.. Harvested little bit more than 1/2 kg from 3 plants.. Not so much info about the strain in net, but i believe its Pineapple express x Purple kush mix, so you can try them also

Try Fresian Dew or Holland’s Hope or other mold resistant strains. Spray with bacillus subtillus through vegetative state. Watch closely and spray the mold directly if it shows up during flowering but not the whole plant. It’s a fight. But you can still get a good grow with some work

Thanks for the replies guys not sure why i'm not receiving notifications for replies.

I know what your saying about smoking it with the spores on it not even going to risk that.

This grow was never about getting a good smoke from it originally there were 5 plants only one was for smoking but the cat knocked one off the windowsill it was on.

This grow was to make cannabis oil & cream for my mothers arthritis (yes she knew we were doing it) i'm hoping to maybe recover whats left to make at least the cream as this is not taken internally but rubbed onto the painful joint.

I cut off all of the buds with mould on them & i have been keeping a closer eye on the remaining ones since the 19th oct a good 15 days ago some did start to go mouldy but i soon spotted it & cut them away before it covered the whole bud i also put the plants back outside which seems to have worked.

Today i did harvest whats left of one of the plants & have hung them ready to dry none of what i cut had any signs of the mould on them at all so hopefully all is not lost if i can get some cream out of it all or would you not recommend that either?

How long does the mould usually take to start appearing again would it start to go mouldy again after 15 days?

Thanks Again for your help guys.

No fear there mate would not even contemplate risking it
