I am using 3 5 gal & 1 7 gal dirt pot and they are crammed in there my 7 gal is the biggest but taking the longest to veg ... That was my little experiment with autos this was my first auto grow so I was checking to see what worked best.. I even did different breeders 1 Nirvana NL , 1 Barneys BLue mammoth, 2 GG Fast buds....
Got my pkg today
I plan on popping them in about a week in a separate veg area so my 2 Livers & Cheese can finish out.
If you use a smaller pot like a 2-3gal I think 4 in a 3x3 would fit, but 4gal+ will really let them stretch IME. The L&Cs I have going now are in 5gal bags and they just blew up, 4ft tall and filling a 4x4 with 2 plants lol. Nice problem to have

That's a lot of root mass for that space IMO. In my space it works out to about 1gal per sq ft (4x4=16sq ft). Whether I use 16 1gal pots, 8 2gals, or 4 4s, it seems to work out that way. As long as I fill out the canopy so very little light goes all the way to the floor that is usually enough soil for me. I think I would want a 5x5 tent at least for 22gals of soil...

I found around 19/5 to be the best. The more light the bigger. You can run them 24/0. 18/6 to 20/4 is the best.

K I’m a noob I haven’t grown much but that is really good advise I was going by bigger the roots bigger the fruits but I am not sure...Lol The 7 gal is way bigger but could be genetics I should have done the same strain to get accurate results .... thanks for the advice...

2-3 gallon is the sweet spot. Bigger pots will grow bigger autos. Anymore than 2-3 gallons and the extra yield is not worth it.

I dont like 24/0. I feel like autos grow faster and better with at least 4 hours of lights off., Even when is not required any dark period for autos., We have to remember that there is always a little bit of photo genes in autos that will benefit from dark period., even knowing that cannabis plants can go to "sleep" with lights on. Personally i have experience better growing rate an vigor with 20/4 or 18/6.

I have heard that u can get the same results of of 1 &2 gallon pots that u get off of 5 ... I only did the 7 to check and see what would happen and the 7 gal is huge really bushy more leaves than anything though and the 5 gal are in full bloom so I would say 5 is better ... Also I tried coco loco mixed with HF and the coco loco screwed my plants up big time cal/mag deficiency’s galore.. That is true mine will droop when lights on 1 1/2 hrs before and 1 hour after.. The tap is part of what determine flower on autos. Using bloom nutes too day actually starts flowering.
Bigger pots and veg nutes all the way through for max yield. Veg nutes at least through stretch if you have to use bloom nutes.

Also if u want to retard flowering give the plants a lot of nitrogen in veg., High levels of nitrogen in veg retards or slow down flower in cannabis., And a lot of people have experience that its not only my opinion.

I am using Greenleaf Nutrients MEGACROP 5 grams per gallon and 5 ml cal/mag that has no nitrogen(Mendocino Flowering cal/mag)

Yes. Its why I recommended veg nutes. I use water only soil and run it hot sometimes with autos.

I'm going to be running mine under HPS for 12 hours, then moving them to the veg room under t5's for another 12 hrs. It's a hassle but my space is limited, and I want to see what they do under HPS. The last autos I flowered under viparspectras and I want to see if the hps adds anything. I will be growing them in 3 gallon, rols

It should. I have used lights and the sun before. Inside under t5 at night and in the sun during the day.
