Help with light selection

Hello,

I am going to be making my purchase shortly but would like to make sure I'm getting the best bang for the buck and most efficient as well. I am looking at either a 3x3 or a 2x4 grow tent as that is all the room I have. My original thinking was at getting a platinum led p600 for a 2x4 but then saw the p4-xml2 and how it is designed for a 3x3 and thought that would be great. I have now been looking at the optics 4 and the optics 2 led lights as they seem quite efficient and prices are very reasonable. So I am wondering what the best setup would be?

I would like to do 3 or 4 plants a grow and have $650 maximum to spend on a light or multi light combo.

Would a platinum be better than the optics? Would 2 optics 2 be better than 1 optic 4? I am a total beginner when it comes to leds but I am trying to gain some knowledge. Thank you for your help!

Good to know about platinum thank you, their more expensive too. How would optics hold up to theses lights from timber or tasty? I like the diy look of those lights but wonder if they have the same safety as the encased devices? I got little ones and can't have house fires. Thank you for the information.

Well, I can only speak about TastyLED and I know he knows his stuff. I opened my lamp and looked at his build quality. I learned from him. I don't think any sellers on this forum sell a lamp that is dangerous, that would be foolish if you're business is to sell lamps. Bottom line, TastyLED is safe. i"m sure PLC, Timber, HLG and others are in the same class. I've also made many (maybe dumb) questions to TastyLED about DIY and he's very helpful, though he doesn't have to be. That impresses me.

Great thank you, I think if I'm going to go into a unit like that I need some more info on the components and what is best, I see a lot of the diy looking builds don't have as much information on the product page and when they do it is more technical info (which I don't understand yet) so more searching for now. Thank you very much, I'll have to poke around some diy forums.

Yeah he should spend his money on a diy or preassembled cob led light... Or a quantum board... Maybe even a dozen eb strips. Sooo many choices.. Oooh oohh the op can go out and buy some 14w Sylvania led bulbs and ditch the diffusers.

This is why these forums were always so great, thank you for the link to the tent combo, I'll be needing all that stuff so to save a few $$$ would be nice.

Those combos aren't worth it. Getting quality items that you need seperately is much better.

I know you said you don't have much space and you're lookin at 3x3's or 2x4"......but GrowLab tents has a 5 x 2 1/2 if ya would like to have a little more space. and if it'll fit where ever you plan to put it,it's actual size is 4'11" x 2'7.

ive got a small space myself,and went with a Timber 400w 4VL.thing rocks!! light fits my space perfectly,only complaint is its too bright! lol.Jonny's right,look into Timber,you can get a killer setup within your price range.the light quality and build is tight!

Secret Jardin also makes a 3x5
