I'm looking for bubba kush - particularly the kind that has been around NorCal the past X years (less so recently) - anyone have advice on which breeders feminized seeds I can trust?

Its a clone only strain. You will have to meet a grower that has it. Any seed companies will have crosses of it. It won't be the same. Its originally bag seed of some northern lights that Josh D and Bubba grew. No one knows what that northern lights was pollinated with. Josh d and Bubba are the guys who brought og kush to the world. From Florida to Caliifornia.
I used to have the real pre 98 bubba but I lost it to russet mites.
So I got a few packs of ripped bubba from tga at a cannabis cup. I'm currently making f2's and eventually bx's til I get mostly the bubba genetics in the cross with hopes to get pre 98 bubba again.

I got mine from HSO...Humboldt Seed Organization. Absolutely no complaints. Most seed banks carry HSO seeds.

i bought cali-connections pre-98 bubba bx. won't be able to grow it until late next year.

i grew cali con's pre98 bubba, fems, and it is some straight fire.. typical bubba taste, smell and potency, and also, sadly, yields..
i also got my hands on a clone only version that was called so'cal bubba, and the cali con's version was pretty much spot on, although the clone only version i grew did yield slightly better, but only slightly..
bubba kush will have almost zero stretch once in flower, hard stems that don't take to any kind of bending or super cropping without snapping, but is hands down one of my faves.

i grow bubba and I make sure to veg it to pretty much full flower size before I flip as she just doesn't stretch. I was able to increase yields this way.
and I think DRgreenthumb has pre 98 seeds

i always veg until i see pre-flowers and alternating nodes, showing me she's sexually mature.. next time i'll try and veg her as big as possible before the flip

Which bank would you recomend here in the U.S. last time i got seeds from a bank here that supposedly carried hso turned out to be shit. Bought some tga from another bank and it was shit. I feel like I'm not getting the real breeders stuff from the U.S. banks. Bought the same seeds/strains from overseas from previous years and they were great. I really liked the hso seeds I've had before.

Are we really to believe their story. First, they’re talking about OG Kush, that is not the same as OG. “Kush” was added to the crosses that came after the fact in an effort to add to OG’s yield. Looking at their “OG Kush” cut, it for sure has the look/traits of an OG “Kush” cross. Was theirs the first “OG Kush”? Doubtful. In their interview they claim that they came up with the name “OG Kush” when one of their friends said the buds look like “Little Kush berries”. Wtf is a “Kush berry”? He claimed that they had absolutely no knowledge of the existing Kush strains, that the name popped out of thin air. Story doesn’t make an ounce of sense. What did happen? At the very best, they got a bag of seeded OG, heard of the “OG Kush” crosses already making waves, applied that generic moniker, and ran with it. Maybe they just got their hands on a tightly held OG Kush a long while ago, and just decided to lay claim to it’s origins. Anyhow, they can’t be the “origins” of OG because their cut is “OG Kush”, which is an OG cross (lots of OG crosses with “Kush” added).
