You know its crazy we argue about what specific technical policy stance we need on the left, which i beleive is a historical pattern of the left, and yet the right kicks our ass at times just coming up with slogans and few random talking points... policy matters none in the end as long as you leave guns alone the sheep will follow anything else, and we loose ppl with long policy papers and technocal arguments.

Im not arguing we give our intellect up, but pondering tactically maybe we need to do political battle their way... fight fire with fire... just backed up with brains and heart post victory.

We need a good damn slogan!

All it takes is pushing populist left positions. Oddly enough, lukewarm neo-liberal positions don't excite people. Being told "America is already great!" when more than half of the population earns less than $30K/year makes them feel like their economic opinions are largely irrelevant

Asking how Democrats can win is just like a fat person asking how to lose weight. The formula is there, right out in the open; eat right and exercise. Same thing with the Democratic party; actually support progressive positions and don't be beholden to corporate donors

It's so obvious one has to wonder why the obvious steps haven't already been taken.

The fix has been in for awhile and the screws have been tightening for a long time. When change comes, it will be as if a dam burst- overwhelming and just as unstoppable.

It's an apt analogy; the only way to handle such an event is to plan ahead and build solutions that will be in place before it happens.

Frankly, America sucks at this kind of foresight.

You said, 'impeach Trump'. Pence is Veep. Who else do you think would end up in the Oval Orifice?

The Chump is a buffoon but he's relatively ineffective. Just today he asked the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe if they could build a few cars in the US...

Honda has been building more cars in America than in Japan for almost 20 years now. Toyota builds millions of cars a year in the States. The Chump is a buffoon and he's doing a decent job of self containment.

Pence is far more potentially dangerous. Maybe things would be different if the midterms took away their Congressional majorities.

I thought if you impeach him for Russian collusion then his whole party would be null and void and back to the polls you would go.

I was under the impression you voted for a president not a party. But its not something I'm up on to be honest.

Impeach and remove the President and his VP steps in- unless he's also impeached. I have a feeling that Pence would have been very careful about covering his tracks. The best realistic outcome would be that Pence sits down at the Resolute Desk only after the Republicans have been decimated in both House and Senate- a prospect that is frankly not looking very likely at this point.

Bernie couldn't even win a primary, lost in a landslide.

Hillary got the 2nd Most Votes in the history of our country and yet lost...and you want to talk about "Democracy" without addressing the electoral college.

our constitution has no mechanism for dealing with anything like what happened in 2016. the cheaters still get to govern even after they are caught and sentenced to prison. we would have to amend the constitution to make it right. not much hope of that.

The Democratic primary was rigged in favor of Hillary Clinton based on the evidence. Claims made based on the results of a rigged election are moot.
