Hi when I used to grow under CFLs and Hps I always used 24/0 for veg, they will grow faster, they don’t need the dark.I grew this way for 4years.Are these fem seeds or reg? That’s a lot of space for a 400watt light.Cant help you on the intake I never used one just exhaust. They look great by the way, you are doing a great job. I’m very interested in this because of the RQ seeds always wanted to try there genetics.I just started flowering some Jack Herer under leds.

Thanks for the reply. I figured 24/0 would result in faster growth. And I believe you are right about my light being too small for my space. I plan to add some supplemental light in flower if needed.
Yes these are all fem seeds, except for the 2 Bagseed of course. This is my first time growing RQS. There critical looks good so far (about 1 week from sprout).. I bought 5 of their NL, but only 2 are still alive and thriving. 1 failed to sprout and the other 2 died shortly after sprout. I also got a freebie special queen, which failed to germ. I cant recommend them personally. Which is why i ended up adding some more strains from different banks. My bagseed germed and sprouted 100%.. Humboldt Green Crack went 1 for 2. Barneys Farm red Dragon 1 for 1.

Bagseed was always the first to germ and sprout. But once sprouted the NL way outperforms the bagseed as you can see the difference here. They sprouted same day.

This is the NL 1 same age

Yes bag seed will never compare to good genetics. Thanks for heads up on RQ seeds.Ive heard great things about Barney Farms (fire).Do you have any pics of your tent? Also wondering about your reflector for the hps.I grew in a cabinet and couldn’t get my reflector to go the right way.Shit I think I was running 65watts/ square foot, heat was always an issue even with a cool tube.Do you know how to figure watts/square foot? Most people try for 40-50 watts/square foot.Sorry to ramble on just trying to help.

Yeah I'm only at about 30w/sq ft. Hopefully that will be ok for veg and i will add another light for flower. I grow in a room that's an add on to my house. As far as the reflector, everything looks good. Appreciate the help. I've still got some work to do on my setup.

You’all be fine for veg. I veged 3plants with a little 300 watt led, 135 watts from wall.I got another one for flower. That Red Dragon sounds so good! Hope all goes great for you. I’ll be watching this one for sure.

The outer edges of leaves are cupping slightly on my Red Dragon. I moved it closer to the light to see if that will help.

I decided to try some LST on my NL1. Hopefully it looks good. Only 2 days in. Some new shoots popping out.

I've heard that plants need at least a few hours of darkness per day because that's when the roots grow the most. I could be wrong though.

About the outer edges of my leaves cupping up on my red dragon.... I did some research here in RIU and figured out that it's due to heat stress. That makes sense bc it's been unseasonably warm the last couple days and my grow room temp got up to 80. Yesterday I wrongfully moved the plant closer to the light to see if it would help. It did not. I'm going to raise my light a little bit for the time being. It's about 12" away right now.

As you can see it got worse from the pic I posted yesterday bc I moved it closer to the light

nice little grow, is that an aircooled hood attached to a carbon filter? also you talked about the room temperature being at 79 degrees is that your canopy temperature or the room temp i think getting it down to 74-75 would be a bit more ideal if possible maby moving a fan. i saw some burnt leaves on one of your photos do you have a soil ph pen? i find its easier to prevent nutrient deficiencies/toxicities if you know the ph of your medium and the ph of the nutrient solution going in.

It is NOT an aircooled hood. Which is good in the winter I suppose bc it also acts as a heater. I put my thermometer at canopy level, near the plants. Should I put it out of direct light for a better reading? The temps have since came down bc outdoor temps are finally dropping below 60. I amended my soil with lime to avoid ph issues. This being my first grow, I don't want to be chasing my own tail with ph meters. Also I hear the cheap ones are unreliable. Thanks for the reply.

Pics after LST/topping. Compare with earlier pics.

NL1 9 days since i started LST as you can see it's really bushed out

NL4 7 days after topping it's responding well but not as good as the Lst imo

Just started some LST on my red dragon

i would put the sensor in the center under the bulb then you know where the hottest part of the canopy is for sure if you can manage that it should be fine everywhere else around the sensor, your right the cheap ones are shit bluelabs makes a very nice soil probe. i've used mixes with lime in them before i find the thing about lime is im sometimes unsure how much to add to the soil and also unsure about how long it takes to break down and how long it lasts hence why the soil probe is a good move since if your starting from seed 4-5 weeks veg, then 8-12 weeks flower depending on strain thats a bit of time for sure is the lime still doing its job of buffering soil in the last few weeks of flowering when the flowers pack on the most weight anyway goodluck with the grow
