Opened bag of happy frog soil. MUSHROOMS growing inside there. Is it still safe to use?

Just like the title says. These things actually look like shrooms, never seen it before. Just opened the bag and they'e several inches long and were growing on top of the soil. My worry is that it's a fungus so I don't know if that could cause mold or root problems

The soil was too warm and moist at some point which triggered the fungi in it to fruit, id buy a new bag :-)

dlftmyers the same https://www.rollitup.org/t/should-i-be-worried-about-these-mushrooms.953084/#post-13894596

and I say the same to you

a good sign

you have bacteria and fungi dominant soils

this is both ...a very good sign indeed

break 'em up and bury them

good luck

I have had this happen, I sent them the bag # and they sent me a new bag, I proceeded to also use the bag that had the strange growth because dude... It was free... And it did just fine, I baked it at 400 degrees for a hour to attempt to kill everything in the soil, good and bad, then let it cool and mixed it with the good bag they sent me. 2 for 1 baby!

Yeah i ended up using it. Read another couple threads on it. Sounds like it's just healthy soil that got a bit humid.
I'm only using it in Dixie cups for clones anyway.
Besides that I run ocean forest and so far haven't had anything to complain about with it.

I will admit though it freaked me out at first. Looked like 4 long skinny fingers attached to part of a hand when I first opened it. Even put gloves on to touch it and then found out they were just shrooms lol

No I honestly didn't know if it was bad at the time, they sent me a replacement because I wasn't satisfied, and then I decided to try it anyway. But yes stealing is low and you shouldn't do it. :p
I wouldn't consider this stealing at all. You were dissatisfied with the quality and they sent you another bag, they could have said the bag is ok but they didn't. You didn't know about the soil health and destroyed your first bag and re-amended with the new stuff.
