Hello all! What is the percentage chance of getting a male plant from a "regular" seed? Or should i just get a feminized one and not even waste my time?

Thanks,
Chris

A 10 pack could be all males. Depends on how they all get mixed around. Nature's way of balancing things says it should be 50/50, but that's not always what we get. You could end up with a 10 pack of females for that matter.

Some say 50/50. I think its more like 70% chance female and 30% male. There is no need for that many males.

I get that in theory it should be 50/50 but it hasn't for me. I average about 70% female out of reg beans.

That's average though. I've planted 10 before and get 10 males. It happens.

without any outside influences, its a 50-50 chance. i kind of agree with WBB, it actually turns out to be about 70% females, just because thats the way nature works, one male can pollinate a whole crop, why produce a load of useless males.
but as far as you getting a certain percentage out of a pack of seeds? way too many variables to predict, you're back to 50-50
