ive heard there are a few ways to fem your seeds.. but what is the most guaranteed method? and what is the science behind it?
Quick question. What’s the difference between the “self” pollinated plant from colloidal silver and a hermaphrodited plant?see the link in my sig. There's ~3 different solutions you can use, but the most common is colloidal silver. Long story short, you just keep spraying it on a female plant (or just a single branch even) for a few weeks, eventually it should produce pollen ... any seeds created as a result of this pollen are feminised. You can use the pollen on the same plant to 'self' it, but usually the pollen is applied to other females. I'm not sure if Giberellic Acid or STS are more successful than colloidal silver, but it's well established all three work well
thats surely the least efficient method though - it requires you taking a plant welllll beyond its harvest time, and nobody seems to know exactly how many strains respond to it (so you could be wasting weeks for nothing), but seemingly a lot don't. It seems to rely on the plant having some self-preservation mechanism of sorts where it realises "i'm dying, might as well self-pollinate", but there aren't too many people on the internet purporting it as the way to go. How many times have you used it, and how many strains, and what were the results? there's still a scant amount of info about published results on the web unfortunately, I guess because it's just far more convenient and faster to spray the plant with colloidal silver, GA, or STS, so I struggle to find how 'rodelization' is ever going to offer muchI use rodelization for a 100% female seed experience. google soma, rodelization
I think I was confusing rhodelisation with hermaphroditism.define a "hermaphrodited plant"? this all goes back to whether the heritage is monoecious, dioecious or polyecious ... some plants have a natural genetic lean towards producing hermaphrodites. But that's another matter, as most people create feminised seeds using plants that don't have monoecious or polyecious heritage
Hey chem, by doing that are you still in the gene pool for multiple phenotypes? Like the seed the original female you did this to was.I use rodelization for a 100% female seed experience. google soma, rodelization
I havent experienced many multiple phenotype seeding hunts in seed packs reallyHey chem, by doing that are you still in the gene pool for multiple phenotypes? Like the seed the original female you did this to was.
its a really good question, like am I limiting when I self a plant, or when I use this late flower pollen ? I'm no breederGotcha 6 of one, half dozen of the other.
I think I'm going to start playing around like that. If anything a batch of s1's is a good way to keep a strain around.its a really good question, like am I limiting when I self a plant, or when I use this late flower pollen ? I'm no breeder
though I do make records (seeds) of what I'm doing and I grow out handfuls of all.
that Tiresias Mist stuff is apparently just colloidal silver though, heavily overpriced at that especially for such a small amount!I've used colloidal and the others too and that teris mist spray all worked as advertised.
to perpetuate the single female plant you have some options. So if I have a pack of rev seeds and find a female I like I can not self pollinate her. I can get her to pollinate and take a clone of her to bread to herself ?
Was hoping to be able to find a good fem and just make seeds from her.
