Looks good, was that the most purple pheno? I’m sitting on a pack of TPR .Finally ran some of my TPR, just about to pull it and smelling dank now, had hardly any smell until about 7 weeks. Lots of purps though

I popped 5 initially and culled down to one based on smell & structure so the most purple was the one I kept - lolLooks good, was that the most purple pheno? I’m sitting on a pack of TPR .
Just waiting for someone to finish up a grow then we will pop them at the same time for a little grow off, and see how they respond to different conditions.
I never cull till they finish flowering .I popped 5 initially and culled down to one based on smell & structure so the most purple was the one I kept - lol
Yeah I hear you, do much the same, with my own strains/crosses which is mainly what I'm running. This was just a fun change up with someone else's genetics to see what the TPR was like, a side grow if you will. To your point about judging the book, last round I had culled one rough looking pheno, set it aside in the basement in the dark. A week later I had some space and the plant still looked ok, so went ahead and threw it in as a filler. It ended up being an almost 100% CBD pheno from one of my crossesI never cull till they finish flowering .
I usually pop 5-10 seeds at a time ,
I label before germ. Then keep notes
I veg them out, then take 2 clones before they go to flower. After the flowering. I start killing clones of the ones I didn’t like.
I’ve been very surprised In The flowering room. Some that I would have killed in veg have turned out to be the best strains n phenotypes I’ve got .
My GC , I popped 5 , lambeled 1-5 on looks of the seed. out of them I killed 1 in veg because it was so far behind the rest. (It was number 5 n wasn’t surprised)
Out of the 4 , my #1 pick was the worst, took 12 days longer to finish and the smoke was only half as good as 3-4 . 2 was good smoke on par with #4 but the yield wasn’t there. #3 fills the bottom out so nice, and is the best smoke. 4 pushes the biggest buds but needs lots of loopy popping .
I still run GC 3&4 and I’ve killed off 5 other strains sense I got my papers n got back into growing .
What I’m trying to say is don’t judge a book till the last page.
Do you send samples to get tested when you harvest?Yeah I hear you, do much the same, with my own strains/crosses which is mainly what I'm running. Yes very interested in this tooDo you send samples to get tested when you harvest?
Haven't yet, want to get them to the stage of being consistent first and working 3 separate lines so it'll be a while. I'm targeting to eventually have low, mid, high CBD IBL's. I have a test kit which tells me the presence and approx. levels of either THC or CBD (separate tests). Right now I have the high THC and high CBD phenos in BX1's. When I get some consistency in reproducing those phenos, probably BX3+ they'll be sent out for lab testing to get an exact read.Do you send samples to get tested when you harvest?
Yes tap water is fine. Be sure to calibrate your meter once a month...at least.Noticed a few leafs were deficient. Finally got a pH pen. A Milwaukee I think. Damn, I was at 7.2-7.5. going to be using it from now on I guess. Never bothered to check all these years because the AN says pH perfect, now I understand that it keeps the pH in range, if it's properly pH'd to begin with.
I got calibration fluid 7&4. The lady at hydro store showed me how to calibrate it. She didn't tell me about storing solution. Can I just put a couple drops of tap water in the cap to keep the sensor wet?
Thanks. In the future I'll be getting either a ec or ppm pen tooYes tap water is fine. Be sure to calibrate your meter once a month...at least.
Yeah I thought about getting a fancy one, they had a lot of different BlueLab ones, maybe if this one doesn't last I will consider upgrading. Even though I always had good results mixing blind, I'm guessing that my results will be better if I keep it in the proper range. Dumped out the res and put fresh nutes in, with pH down, it's now at 5.6.Ive tried all kinds of different brands of meters...I only buy BlueLab now. Their truncheon ec meter is bullet proof. Finally replaced the batteries 8 years later.
The Producer does not have enough air stones is the biggest problem IMO, that's why I built my own reservoirsI bought 3 different cheap PH pens and a TDS pen off of ebay for under $25 total. They work surprisingly really well. I calibrate them once a month or when one doesn't read the same as the other. Having more than one helps not having to calibrate it all the time.
I just check them today, this how far they were off after 30 plus days in use.

I'll have to show my friend your post as they have a producer and the mother ship. They always have had problems getting roots to all 18 sites.
Cheers

Cheapo pens work best for me in my opinion, I have the full range of expensive, mid and low end pens. don't use tap water or distilled or RO water for storage. usually the best practice method is using storage solution but 4.0 solution works also. Ok sounds good, I will use 4.0 from now on. I figured tap water was better than drying out the sensor.Cheapo pens work best for me in my opinion, I have the full range of expensive, mid and low end pens. don't use tap water or distilled or RO water for storage. usually the best practice method is using storage solution but 4.0 solution works also.
