When you brew a compost tea the compost is like an inoculate and all the other things you add are just food sources for the microbes that are in the compost so if you add too much of a particular food source the microbes that prefer that will quickly dominate your tea. Bacteria go for sugars like molasses fungi like fish hydrolysate or kelp amongst others.Molasses not good for fungi?
Id add about half a teaspoon at most for that size.I really didn't know I was fucking up that bad I'm still learning I use a 5g bucket and a pump from the hydro store with 2 ends and about 2 2in stones. Nothing fancy bubble thing cost me like 30$
I do almost always add kelp meal to my teas does that help? When you brew a compost tea the compost is like an inoculate and all the other things you add are just food sources for the microbes that are in the compost so if you add too much of a particular food source the microbes that prefer that will quickly dominate your tea. A lot of people confuse compost tea with nutrient tea. Compost tea is just a biological inoculum it shouldn’t contain much nutrient if any after being brewed. Nutrient teas and Sprouted seed teas can be really nutrient and enzyme rich and can fuck shit up if you feed them too strong of a mix. There you go. I learned something. Cheers
You should finish it.I have read most of that lop great read
Kisorganics.com has good podcasts with Jeff Lowenfels and Tim Wilson about microbes and compost tea. There you go. I learned something. Cheers
