If its a hybrid sativa indica then that most likely is the answer to why leaves look indicaI've got a question about the Candida CD1 I have got. Info online tells me it is a Sativa phenotype, but as you can see from the pictures (week 5 of flowering) this looks more like a indica dominant. What do you guys think?

Thanks for the advice and compliments guys! I'm hoping it will be ready before the stated 9 weeks flowering time.
A thousand times this! I'm glad to see people are starting to listen. From my limited understanding you want to take cbd dominant plants on the early side. That is if you are trying to max out the Cbd.
I thought the longer you leave a plant (more amber trichs) the higher the CBD?Try to take samples at different times to decide when YOU like it best. From my limited understanding you want to take cbd dominant plants on the early side. That is if you are trying to max out the Cbd.
Please try to let us know how she turns out.

This makes sense as I've harvested later before and had a more 'couch lock' feeling, which I like, but I have had to harvest early on some plants, and the high was more 'rushy.' Also, to add to the confusion. I've just read a article that on CBG. https://www.leafly.com/news/cannabis-101/what-is-cbg-cannabinoidNo thc degrades into CBN. Which has no desirable effect. It can make you sleepy. It is not like cbd. That is a seperate canabanoid.
But I never heard to cut early for it. That can't be right. You would want the right plant with the right genetics and let it go until it is peaked like any other.

Interesting. So, it would seem CD1 isn't stable unlike other strains?According to Medical Marijuana Genetics Candida CD1 has two pheno's. A sativa and an indica. I'm growing one right now and it looks like a sativa. Nothing like yours. You must have the indica pheno.
Candida will noticeably produce two different phenotypes; a sativa and an indica. Initial research has suggested that the sativa phenotype will produce lower, whispier yields often associated with sativa strains. We have noticed to date that the sativa pheno produces higher CBD counts. In comparison, the indica pheno will produce bigger, denser yields with lower CBD levels but still with significant CBD content. The sativa can be harder to manage and will have larger distances between the internodes making the plants more vulnerable.

Apparently so. I would have preferred the indica pheno because the one I have has been problematic. Most difficult plant I've grown in years.Interesting. So, it would seem CD1 isn't stable unlike other strains?
My CD1 has just started to get yellow leaves even though it has 3 1/2 weeks to go, but I'm hoping it'll sort itself out seeing as I'm using Sensi Coco for the first time, which has made this grow (Triple Cheese, Trainwreck and CD1) problem free so far.Apparently so. Well I think it was my fault being problematic. After I made my last post in this thread I tried to calibrate my PH pen and found my PH pen went haywire, was 1.1 off and wouldn't calibrate. I immediately went and bought a new PH pen. It's nice to have numerous hydro stores in the area. I then mixed up some properly ph'd nutrient solution and hand watered to about a 30% runoff and adjusted my blumat reservoir. The plant has responded well. What's odd is that the Indica strains I'm growing didn't seem to be affected as much and after some initial issues seemed to adjust and grow pretty good.My CD1 has just started to get yellow leaves even though it has 3 1/2 weeks to go, but I'm hoping it'll sort itself out seeing as I'm using Sensi Coco for the first time, which has made this grow (Triple Cheese, Trainwreck and CD1) problem free so far.
How has your CD1 been problematic?
Glad you got it sorted. I also had a PH pen and it broke too, but I've never used one and my plants are usually okay. I also keep my plants watered just enough to keep the humidity down. So I never have runoff to PH test anyway.Well I think it was my fault being problematic. So the only problem I've had is being a moron and not checking my PH pen. I've got a couple more Candida 1 seeds I'll be popping soon and I hope to get an indica pheno.
I grow in 100% coco so PH is extremely important. I think she's going to make it. She looks rather rough but is getting better. Giving her about a week and then I'm going to take some cuts. I know a few people that really want a clone of this because of the CBD levels. Here she is. I didn't do any training, topping, etc... This is how she grew naturally. It's definitely the sativa pheno.Glad you got it sorted. I also had a PH pen and it broke too, but I've never used one and my plants are usually okay. Oh, and I contacted Candida and they said the indica pheno tests around 10-12% CBD and 0.5% THC. So, I guess it's yield vs strength. Wanna swap plants? lol
