Please do. Is there a way to do it without the tapping? And how much would it cost to build a 200w COB? The one I’m looking at coats 300, I would love to pay less.

Mine cost about $340 but that was with shipping.
My COBs are two Vero 29C modules. Running at 69.4v each. I forget their maximum acceptable drive current. But I'm running mine at 1400mA. And my driver puts out about 143v at its lowest setting. Covering the base voltage of both cobs combined.
If either the base voltage or drive current falls below the chips minimum specs. They'll likely flicker, fail to start. Or you could damage something. Same with the opposite end of spectrum- minus the flicker.
When picking cobs. You want to find out their lumen/w outputs. That'll give you an idea of their efficiency. Not sure if I imagined it. But the bluer ones seem to have higher Lm/W ratio than their redder counterparts.
As for tapped heatsinks... I got mine as part of the diy bundle, pretapped. Big fuckoff 14cm by 8cm pinsinks rated to about 100w passively. About $30 each.
I'm not sure where you're located. Being located in Straya- I believe we pay a bit more for things like this. You may be able to get things cheaper than I did. But, I got all my stuff from "cutter electronics".

Yeah I’m in the states, so I think our dollar amounts will be off. I found this website and i’ll Look more into it. At least this dude has pictures, and I’m sure there are videos on YouTube that show how. Thanks for all the help, any info is helpful

Happy Turkey Day
Day 4 of flowering
Two days ago I start a AACT brew, with a gallon and a half of RO water 1/2 cup of EWC, 1/4 cup of Sea Kelp and 1/2 cup of Alfalfa, 3 tablespoons of Garrett Juice and roughly over a tablespoon of Black Strap Molasses. Giving it another 24 hrs of brewing provides more of a boost of Microbes, although chances of it going anaerobic goes up. Today 30-45 mins before the lights came on I gave it a foliar feed of the CT. When I lights came on I filled up half a gallon of the AACT, along with 1 tbs of Fulvex, Silicate, 1Tbs of 2-4-1 fish emulsion, and BT and fed it to my plant. While it was draining I foiliar fed it again with the soil drench mixture. I figured I might as well before it goes under the lights.
This phenotype has had rapid growth and everyday there are much more stigma appearing as what looks like the top buds of the colas developing. And it’s only day 4 of flowering! The bigger branches are growing what seems like half an inch a day. I’m having to really bend the larger branches back to make sure there is enough room for all colas to grow. I topped it twice so there are four main tops, however the lower branches that taken off and are much larger and longer that the 4 tops.
In a week or two I’ll be feeding it the high phosphorus Guano, but I won’t be rushing that. This plant is exploding and if I’m not careful I could have a huge clusterfuck on my hands. Although if it happens I’ll just learn and move on from it. I really believe this is a good pheno and will deliver much more than my last grow.
I have one last (that I know of) modification to do on the PC to make sure there are no light leaks. I will be taking down the orca reflective film and fit cardboard around the lights then cover back up with the film. I believe not having adequate coverage it took long last time to mature, then again it could have been a wild phenotype. Nonetheless onto bigger and better things.
All nutrients and amendments are all organic and quite a bit of them are OMRI rated.

Hey folks,
Last Friday one of my LED UFO’s lost quite a few of its LED’s, as well earlier in the grow it’s fan stopped working. So I ordered from a different company a 150 watt UFO Growstar which was received and installed last night. It’s true wattage is 62 combined with the other UFO is 112 watts in all. However the new LED pumps out a lot of hot air. Last night it got up to 97 and before I went to sleep (I keep the grow lights on at night) I turned up the AC and the ceiling fan on and temps went down to 91. Those temps are too high so I’m going to just use the Growstar as my main light. Although i’ll Only be using 62 true watts at least i’ll have a right temp grow. Also it eliminates fire risks and I feel good about the decision. I think 62 true watts will be ok right? I know i’ll Be losing weight but I think this is the right decision. It is a badass light and when compared to the 50 true watts it overpowers. It makes me wonder if the other UFO was really 50 true watts. The Growstar does have a few different lights including a small cob in the middle. It’s a damn shame that I can’t have that other LED UFO in there. Ah well, I’ll finish building that cabinet and then i’ll have a decent set up. Anyways tonight i’ll be switching over to just the Growstar and I’m going to custom fits the top of the case and UFO with cardboard to make sure no light leaks are happening. I still believe this will be a decent grow. Pics will be coming later, as soon as the lights turn on.

Any pics of those lights? And have you looked inside the one thats burnt out?
You may be able to use its drivers to power some Samsung strips or equivalent.
I was considering gutting my old blurple light for a conversion. Unfortunately it's driver has a whole bunch of output wires and no markings. It still runs fine. I'm just not using it. Not since getting my own nug tank operational.

Week 2 Day 2 of flowering
Hey folks,
Not much of an update except the pics, however I completed my work on the PC. I took out the other UFO LED indignantly and replaced it with the Growstar LED. I really wanted both of them going, but the heat was killer. Ah well at least I can rest easy with this one. Compared to my last grow this is miles ahead of where the last one was at this time. I attribute that to light leaks and this one is all patched up.
Growth is still pretty rapid and i’ll be giving it some high phosphorus Bat guano along with other nutes here in a few days. I have been watering every other day because the plant is drinking so much. On the moisture meter it’s reading dry just two days after watering.
I have been pruning everyday and today I pulled the colas down one last time. From here it’s all stretch and this pheno is stretching more than last one. I’m definitely excited about this plant now that I have learned from last years mistakes. This should be a good one. Hopefully the 62 true watts will be enough, I mean it is a small plant. What do y’all think?

Flowering Week 3 Day 1
Hey folks,
Not much to report other than it’s continued growth and the production of the trichromes. I fed her 3 days ago with Fish emulsion and Hydrosolate, Garrett Juice, fulvex, Mycorrhizae endo/ecto, Silicate, and organic black strap Molasses. She does have a different smell than the last one I grew. This is less sweet and more dankier with a little Skunk. The outdoor temps have dropped here so the pc has been at the right temps. Now that I’m entering week three I am ceasing tucking, now i’ll pull them down to even out the space and canopy. If temps stay or get lower I might have to reinstall the other UFO, but If not I might get some Samsung light strips. And who knows I might have a grow tent in a few weeks. Hope y’all enjoy the pics

The plant is doing very well and is starting to turn purple. There is a slight yellow tinge on the tips of the leaves but I’m not worried about it. I fed her an AACT with compost, Earth Worm Castings, Bat Guano, Kelp, alfalfa, fulvex, Garrett Juice, and Black strap Molasses. Stretching has stopped and now the buds are filling out. So far there is zero odor and up close the buds smell very sweet with a faint dank berry smell. Temps have been at 75 with a low of 66 at night turning the leaves and calyxes purple. In other news my cabinet is almost completely built so hopefully I can finish this gal in there. My guess is that this will go to nine weeks so by that rate I’m less than halfway there. These buds are going to get huge. Anyways enjoy the pron

Not much of an update here but the plant is moving a long just fine. I’ve let the soil medium dry out but not to a point where the leaves are wilting. There are some fan leaves dying off so I’m wondering if that’s because of the lack of watering? The purpling is continuing more and more as well the buds are getting more conical. The smell is non existent, which works great, but I do love the smell of cannabis. However it works because I have no air filter for it.
In other news I also have a dub tub where I’m growing cubensis mushrooms, that grew its first pin today so i’ll Include those in the pics. Other than that enjoy

Nice monotub. Never could get spawn like that. Always did cup cakes straight from half pint jars. Only thing I miss about growing shrooms is they go through their life cycle way quicker than herb. Don't miss the temptation to trip ALL THE TIME. I grew weight so I always had a lid of headies.

Thank you dude, this is my second time around on the dub tub, so I’m pretty stoked to actually have the start of fruit. Last time, it didn’t work out because because the FAE holes were too big. But this time around I rewatched the instructional videos and learned from it. I’m hoping for a good harvest, but even one would excite me.
