The snails/slugs won't crawl across the sharp edges of the eggshells. You can also use a copper ring. When they touch it it has an effect kind of like aluminum and dental fillings. The slight electrical shock makes them turn the other way. Thanks all. I am having major pest problems at the moment. Last night I was busy Listing the rest of my plants and I found three snails munching on my MJ I killed them all but I know there are more.I have seen caterpillars as well on other plants but not the MJ. Will the neem oil work against the snails and caterpillars? Or is it only for insects?
I can't get snail bait atm and I have heard crushed egg shells work. How do you use them crush the eggshells and sprinkle around the plants? I will use it until I can get some bait.
For caterpillars the best thing I've found is a product called Thuricide. It's a BT pesticide specifically for caterpillars. It's a natural bacteria based product that affects the target pest specifically and is safe for pretty much everything else.
