Nuke em and thrips

So I just bought a 10’x5’x6.5’ tent and put 10 plants in it. I’ve never dealt with thrips, so I used my Flying Skull Nuke ‘em on them. I applied a heavy recommended dose with soil wet before spraying. 3 applications 3 days apart. I cleaned tent like I would for mites, w/ bleach. It did not work. Just a heads up.
I’ve read the recent forums on RIU about thrips and it seems like most use the Monterey bug spray,(spinosad). I don’t want to do this 3 times.
Is this the best product to use?

Will a spray alone work, or do I need to drench as well?

I had a thrip infestation in flower, no way was I gonna pay hydro shop prices so I used some Bayer Provado I had in the shed, killed in 2 sprays and didn't come back. Safe for edibles and didn't effect my smoke.

Yeah, the nuke ‘em should kill everything and make you breakfast for the price. I’ll look into the Bayer. Thanks for the reply.

Nuke Em and Big Time Exterminator seem to have pretty much the same ingredients. Two keys are citric acid and active yeast enzymes. it all seems pretty safe stuff. Supposedly will kill - spider & russet mites, aprhids/thrips. Powdery Mildew and other types of mildews. Also can be used for root drench for root aphids and soil gnats. The usage for soil drench is pretty small so it will last a long time for that.,

Are they still in veg? Neem will work. Are they soil aphids or on the plants? You could also use Dr. Bronners Peppermint plus water (see bottle for mix) or Ivory white dish soap $2.87 at wal mart for 32 oz bottle or so which will last forever.

Root Aphids - also can use Oraganicide which is cheap. The thing about Organicide on a foliar spray is it smells like the fish oil that is in it. It is not overpowering but it stinks a bot.

I was just about to flip when I discovered them, so yes, they’re still in veg. I’m definitely going with a more inexpensive route in the future. The lightest treatment would use about 7 cups,(with drench), of Nuke’em. It’s $100+ a gallon.

As the fellow said above - spinosad for a spray and root drench should do the trick. A little bit cheaper. My impression, is sponi is not that great on fighting mites.

yes, spinosad is not effective against mites. I cant really think of a single product that works for everything but is safe enough to be used on cannabis. Good to have a few different treatments in your arsenal.

This can help cut down on things and organic.

But what you need is to, keep animals away,cooler tempeture in the room and never take clones from even the biggest growers they usally have bugs. Spray a sistemic spay only on freshly rooted clones it gives time for the harsh chems to dissipate. For all other sprays only controls them never getting rid of them. Even predotor mites or predictor bugs will never kill off there food source instinctively. I read that 10 years ago and found it so interesting. Iv used everything harsh to organic. Starting from seed is so the way to go if you can. Certain nutrients that have nitrates that make plants big fast creates inferred that bugs can see. If your interested i can send the video that talks about it.

OMRI So many see this Just knowing it means organic but it takes a company spending lots of money to have this little marking on their bottle.

Advice on application
• Spray at the first sign of infestation.
• If necessary repeat the treatment 10-14 days later on ornamentals and 14 days later on food crops, except cherry and mirabelle which is 21 days.
• Herbs, lettuce and leafy brassicas should be sprayed only once.
• For best results, only use on plants which are actively growing.
• The best time to spray is early morning or evening.
• Do not spray in bright sunlight or when plants are dry at the roots.
• Some varieties of certain ornamentals (particularly soft bedding plants) may show some temporary discolouration of leaves or flowers after spraying, but this normally grows out without lasting effect.
• Pesticide resistance in glasshouse whitefly and some aphids is widespread. Where resistant pests are present, Provado Ultimate Bug Killer Ready to Use is unlikely to give control.
This is sistemic, thats why they says spray once on edibles how far in flower are you

Npk university.com they have something called Promis, just for thrips , white fly, root aphids . Its a soil drench with any ipm spraying very good to change what we use or they get resistance. Gl
