Anyone use Dyna-Gro Grow in Veg and Bloom?

I use those big black heavy duty paper clips and soft wire tie.

I don’t think I want metal discoloring soil though.

And iron is misdiagnosed a lot. It is one of the reasons bloom pk boosters yellow leaves so quickly.

I know there is a trial out there that says too much nitrogen lowered thc in hemp but I like to feed balanced to the end. Just less as the plants need it.

No one is complaining about potency. And I still get high every time.
Yeah, I don't really recommend the staples. They work, but the fact that the roots avoided them feels like a bad thing. :?
I didn't buy anything new for my last outdoor grow and still have a pile of nutes to use. Definitely "semi-organic", but mostly organic.
Plants like poop. :weed:

Sorry for being a dick.
I've wasted a lot of money on products that were "made for cannabis" -- and even had cool hippie graphics. :dunce:
So I'm just overly skeptical I suppose. (paranoid? o_O)
Megacrop looks great and I would like to try it some day. I've already got a variety of nutes that I need to use. They are all good products I've had success with in the past. Jacks, plant marvel, Sea Grow, RAW, Technaflora, Dyna-Gro, Mills, GH, and probably a few more I can't remember. All good stuff.
Don't even get me started on organic soil. I've got buckets of hydrated coco, bales of this and that, bat shit, bird shit, bug shit, etc.
Three worm bins. A giant pile of recycled soil...

I've gotta use what I've got. :?

Sorry for being a dick. :eyesmoke:
Its cool. I get it. The mega crop comes in a Mylar bag with a sticker on it. No fancy art or whatnot to sell it.

I prefer organic myself. Its cheap or free.

hi Chunky

I think it is good that you are questioning what companies are telling you and questioning things and I respect that quite a lot! People should not be obligated to believe just what someone tells them. I just am logging on now to check messages and reading all the replies now.

About studies, we do not have any public studies like Advanced Nutrients, for example this is a good one AN did
http://www.growersunderground.com/PhosphorusMyth.pdf
There are also quite a few others dating back 40+ years about cannabis nutrition done in public realm. We would like to do those type of public studies grants at universities in the future especially with a variety of different strains. I will tell you that when making MEGA CROP, we looked at practically every nutrient product on the market and studied them. Companies like AN, Canna, Humboldt nutrients specialize their formulas to Cannabis, and also focus their marketing towards Cannabis also. While other companies like General Hydroponics and DynaGro do more general hydroponic formulas that can work on a variety of different types of plants or work fairly well. Also, we looked at Jack's Professional, Veg+Bloom and Maxicrop, because we looked at other dry formulas also and wanted to be competitive.

One of the biggest things that separates us is more of a chemistry types of research we did, that we can make the formula 1 part and have all ingredients in it, and still be soluble completely. This is actually a bit of a challenge, and our process hasn't been duplicated yet that I have seen at hydro stores because they are still selling all the base products as "2 part." So this is something unique that our product has and can greatly simplify the cannabis growing process with regards to not having to use several products.

To be honest I think a lot of growers get caught up on cannabis as a flower . They are a fast growing annual weed that grows in a ditch, very different from roses, tulips and orchids. This isn't to say that you cant use any complete nutrient to grow them but I do think there is something to a canna specific line. Given that I too do not like the shenanigans the nutrient companies do to pry dollars from our pockets. After all its the number one consumable product in our type of growing.

The dyna Grow interview on the dude grows show I have been posting shares the lab reports of cannabis nutrient content. The research has been done. They announced they are formulating one for cannabis hybrids a while back.

And just because a nutrient mixes soluble does not mean it stays soluble in the medium. Or guarantee absorption. Over done mixes overload plant roots more easily. Especially high calcium cannabis specific ones. And too much mag is real problematic for soil. Like phosphorous it comes next in lock out after calcium.

I just had to say that. I am not bashing nutrient companies or honest businesses. But there is no catch all solution for everyone in gardening. Even indoors in containers. Different climates. Rooms. Strains. Lights. Mediums. Water.......

See what I mean?

How potent is this megacrop?

Say, your 5gr/gal? Or, how much of it equals 1.5EC?
On your feed chart you're roughly stating 5gr/gal for most of bloom. For me I've always liked 1.7-1.8EC for most of bloom. If 5grams per gal gets me there, and your ingredients are as you say, it sounds fantastic. Except feeding silica to the end :-( i could look past that if this stuff is potent enough though :-)

I love that it has chitosan in it.

Cobaltous sulfate CoSO4, magnesium sulfate MgSO4

I'm not defending dyna gro, but it does contain sulfur.

Your nutrients list MgSO4 as an ingredient as well, which appears to be the primary source of sulfur.

Do your nutrients contain cobaltous sulfate? Co is an essential micronutrient.

It kind of bothers me the rep doesn’t know this. Even when reading the label.

I don't think anyone is bashing Dyna, its one of the few companies I like.
The confusion with Mega is its not just a complete NPK base nutrient. It also has additives and supplements in it as well so EC and PPM will not be where we are used to having them. This was the reason I did a open test grow. It was not easy to just "trust" in adding by weight, my PPM and EC were high and it worried me. When your accustomed to doing things for so long its hard to change.

The positives far outweigh the negatives for me. Mega Crop is not a silver bullet, its as good if not better than Jacks, Maxi and Veg+Bloom that I've tested in the past because of the added supplements and additives.

For someone new to growing or walks into a hydro store for the first time nutrients can be overwhelming and expensive. For someone who grows large volume a one and done could save $$$ also.

If the megacrop is as potent as veg+bloom, it kicks it’s ass on paper because of price. I don’t rock the vegbloom but got buddies who do. That shit is way overpriced, and I sware I get just as good results with just base nutes like maxi. Worth checking this shit out if it’s just as potent. I ordered a bag last night :-)

My standard and bar was Maxi with adds, now I don't need the adds and a hell of a lot less of MagCal.

hi Aero

Thanks for the question. We do not have an official EC calculator setup now, we have a few people (like shown above) who have given their results to give a good estimate. The best way to find out for you, is to do a grams dosage the first time, then read the EC on your meter to find out the conversion.

We do not have cobaltous sulfate, we do use some MgSO4, but we have 2 other separate sources of Mg for max absorption.

Yes, I see what is going on now. The sulfur amount is below the minimum guarantee amount by law, so that is why they don't put a guaranteed analysis on Sulfur. So yes it does have sulfur, just below the threshold to put the label, the ingredient list shows this. :bigjoint: Sorry for the confusion, I just did a quick scan of a picture of the label I found on Google Image and read the % values.

@Aeroknow

Got my MC today, here's 20gr in 5 gallons of water 4gr/gal 540ppm, 1.08EC

And then 30gr in 5 gallons 6gr/gal 1.6EC(ish)

Shipped to my door it was $67 (for 9.9kilo), it costs less than a penny a gram 0.0067 (67/9900gr)

It is very soluble in water, everything dissolved in about 45 seconds, mixed in a 5 gallon bucket with a powerhead.

using their calc that's on their website, the macro and micro nutrients@6gr/gal equal 545ppm (only 6ppm NH4+), which means there's another 243ppm of additives

I took advantage of the promo and got 90g for $2.61 shipping -- even though I've got a crapload of nutes I haven't used.
How can I say no to a free sample? 8-)
Not sure when I'll actually use the product.
I'm leaning towards organic soil for my next indoor grow because it's easy and I'm lazy. :eyesmoke:
I've got a bunch of hydrated coco ready to go but mixing & feeding daily is a pain -- and I'd rather not deal with a lot of runoff.

If you did make an order for 90g and are inside the USA/Canada, shipping will probably upgrade you to 230g. The 90g size is mostly for international people, since there is a big difference in shipping cost with 90g and 230g. Otherwise, in USA and Canada its basically the same shipping price.
