wtf everyones info.s out in the open

i knew you could gather some info on a person but damn..i just googled my self and for 99 c on dozens of sites you can get a pile of info on a person its crazy ,they showed me my record, current residence, list of family member., cell, places most frequented..etc
i could probably find out my godamn shoe size if i throw another dollhair there way..they can't pinpoint me in real time but dam .. anyways i don't like it
i know theres not a way to erase myself completely ;but i haven't had any type of social media accounts in like ten years; i always use an alias,i use a vpn when necessary and i need an alternative to that for surfing on a regular browser... is there a way to put a dent in the info.thats already out there or a way to prevent further info from leaking ...i know no ones trying to look me up but it bugs the shit outta me that a stranger can find my home if all he knows is my name

How big a list do you want?

The only way to stop anyone getting your info in these modern times is to go completely off the grid with no mains electricity, gas or water, have no landline or mobile phone, no internet connection, no bank account, no credit/debit card and bank account, buy everything with cash and never give any details to anyone "for their records" as everyone will sell on some details you would class as "personal" whether you like it or not.

you can scrub (opt-out) of a lot of this stuff but it takes some effort, ie: faxing copies of your DL to the public records consolidators (Intelius, Spokeo).

you also have to make sure you remove outdated search results from Google

I know, I know, sounds counterintuitive to SEND stuff to them but it did work in my case, at least for the info publicly available on Google searches. doesnt sound too bad, i have social anxietty anyways so im already used to bein alone , now i i jus gotta learn how to live off the land
