In your thread , I see you say 80 days sense seed or clone , I see you put 20 days from flip, 8 days flowering.
(I know the numbers are not right ).
But once the plant is put into 12:12 that is day 1 of flowering , not once you see flowers ...
I have plants that finish anywhere from 56-74 days from the flip.

When you read about strains and flowering times , all are from the flip of 12/12

Just wondering your thoughts on this ?

Is it me or an illusion but it looks like you have 2 nice lights in the room but the plant is tucked in the back and not directly underneath the lights? Don’t think you would need supliment lighting if the plant was actually under both lights you already have. They just look like they’re positioned wrong.
Probably just an illusion from the pic though!

I call day one the day I see flowers. To me, that day the plants tell me they are flowering. So, I call it day one of flowering. What do you call day one on an outdoor grow?

I don’t do outdoor anymore
The photoperiod in AB is too long for normal plants and then just want to veg n veg, and frost seems to hit in sept. need autos n I don’t play with autos .

If u add Bud Ingitor it will show flowers faster . (I use it)

Generally when you see flower outdoors is when the time changes and daylight is not as much which equals 12/12 indoors.
If you look at sunlight times throughout a summer season you will notice that you get about 13-14 hours of sunlight beginning of June. And the amount of sun per hour rises to about 16 hours . Then in August the time goes back down to 11-12 hours per day.

Generally when you see a flower outdoors it’s already changed into flower 1-2 weeks prior to site

That’s why you don’t put a nice vegged plant outdoors in May cuz the plant will start budding and then in June it try’s to turn back into veg

Like previous poster said all seeds times are based on light times. Once you click 12/12 it’s day 1 of flower..
If it’s an 8 week finisher then it’s 8 weeks from the day you flip to 12/12

THIs year I’m going to get to harvest in one outdoors season. I’ll have 6 outdoors that will be vegged inside first.
3 if them are going to go the full season like last.
The other 3 will grow half as big as last season and then I’ll induce budding with light deprevation . Let the sunlight in 12 hours during the day and then cover them for the other half the day.
2 nice harvest 1 outdoor season.

There is a fixed 400w on each side of the box.
In the middle I rigged up a 36" T5 that puts out 30%UVA and 12% UVB light. I positioned the t5 fixture closer to the back wall so it isn't directly below the hps bulbs. Every night I rotate the lid 180° so all the buds get exposure to the UV light.
I might get better yield it the plant was directly under one of the 400's but the UV is supposed to increase trichome production.

Nothing on ya farmer but I’m a new grower indoors and don’t want miss understood Information otherwise we won’t get anywhere in the growing world. Technically your plants will be in budding to log and potentially affect the quality in the long run.

I hear you but in my experiences a lot of indoor strains aren't finished 8 weeks after 12/12 yet the breeder says it has an 8 week flowering period.

Isn’t there a lot more up from the 400?

All the stats that are given with the strain are under top conditions , and the top phenotype . not all sisters are alike, some will take longer then others some will have bigger tits , some will have better looks etc.

I’ve been running C99 and I found 1 that’s almost done (it’s days 55) the others are going to take longer. So there was one bean that is really fast, ... lots of the seeds we buy are F1s n are not stable so you get a big mix of different plants .
This is why I run lots of seed n pic moms

Yeah us Albertans need affordable light DEP greenhouses.

No just 2 400w's and a t5.
Yeah us Albertans need affordable light DEP greenhouses.
The new 315w are where it’s at.
In 2 different veg spots I was running 750w of CFLs (not equal to 750w but pulling 750w) I switched to 315w for each room.
They are 10x the light at less then half the watts .
I’m using the T-Tekhydro units from
T&T hydro in Edmonton (they ship)

He's running 2X 400w HPS. 315 are CMH. He'd need new ballasts or he'd be over driving the bulbs and shortening the life.

I didn’t mean he should run 315 CMH bulbs in his units
I was just saying about how good they r , and if we are talking saving power they are the way to go. But you need the right ballasts to run them.

This is what I’m using , one has a China bulb the other I got the Phillips
To early to tell if the Phillips is (as) better as said. Definitely has higher Kelvin looking spectrum (to my eye) vs the Chinese bulb,
Both are around 4000k

I think one day I might swap everything to CMH. Just not sure if it would work in this box. There is a sheet of glass between bulb and grow area. I can't remove it or I will loose odor control.

I personally don’t like to have my bulbs behind glass...
But we all need to make it work for ourselves.
I’m using a 4”x16” carbon filter and a 4” Nutone fan fr home depo ( whisper quite) it’s takes all the smell out of my drying tent.
The tent is 4x4 and it’s a lot stronger smelling then the flowering room that’s 5x bigger, might be something to look into if worried about smell.
But if your about , it’s not broke don’t fix
This units run cooler then your 400w
And if your not having trouble with the 400s
You won’t have trouble with the 315s

Yeah the glass will deflect the UV rays that the CMH makes. This box was designed for HPS which doesn't really produce much UV. That's why I'm using the T5 to give it similar benefits that you have with a CMH.
