Hello! Got a question :) Has anyone used Botanicare's Hydroguard? I bought some to help the health of my roots. i was reading that it can also increase yield, have you experienced this at all?

I have been using hydroguard and cam honestly say that it is amazing lol keeps my root zone healthy. Haven' had any problems with root rot. But about the yield I could just pin point it down to the hydroguard but it is something you need if you are growing in dwc bro.

Don't waste your money on Hydroguard. It's watered down. Southern AG is 1000x more concentrated.

Uhhhhhhhhhh.... that's not even the same kind of product as Hydrogaurd... the link you posted is to a fungicide. Hydrogaurd is beneficial bacteria intended to keep roots healthy by preventing the build-up of harmful bacteria and assist in the uptake of nutrients. Not even remotely similar to a fungicide. So what exactly are you doing recommending one in place of the other? That is some seriously irresponsible advice.

Rather than go back and forth..... You really should do some homework first.

All I know is that I been using hydroguard and it has done wonders for my root zone. Dont have to worry about root rot in my dwc system. If there is something better out there that cool lol but why switch if it works for my plants js

I made the unforgivable error of laziness. I glanced at the link, saw fungicide and made assumptions without reading. What he is saying is spot on. Same stuff, just highly concentrated.

First, let me say that I've used Hydroguard for the last 3 years on my RDWC system and it has allowed me to grow even when temps are in the 80's. It seems to work for me.
Having said that, RIU is an amazing source of info-didn't even know about Southern Ag's version-made just up the road from me and readily available. I'll remember for my next grow.

Yeah man this shit is the real deal.I have tried everything and this shit gives me the best roots and best growth. When the roots are happy the plants are even happier.H202 and zone and chlorine and all that shit dont work. They are just band aids on an already fuckd up system. The Hydroguard is a beneficial bacteria and After i started using it i started to get the little sticklers that come off the roots way more pronounced.I discovered it after my water chiller was 6 degrees out of calibration and my plants went to shit.I cut clones and moved some other plants into another system but my PH pen had already cross contaminated so i started to get the dreaded brown algae.I did alot of research and came accross Hydroguard and ran it.I could have made the benny tea and went out an bought all that shit but i really did not see the point of running DWC for simplicity and than turning around and bubbling a tea every 3 days and dealing with all that bullshit.Put the Hydroguard in at 2 ML per gallon and
within a week my roots were white as fuck and plants started to look good.
I wont run without it anymore.
