Some people get luck and what they have works, my first grow 6 yrs ago was like that and then I moved where the only difference was water source and everything was shit bc of ph

Thanks man but I'm not the one looking for help, lol. And I posted a link to a $10 ppm and ph meter kit so I'm already on that tip.

I figured out that the soil is that MG extended nutrients so tmo I'm gonna buy fox farms happy frog soil, nutrients, and a ph tester. The only thing is that I see ones that test the soil and then ones that test water so which one should I get?

If you're gonna buy one get the one that tests water.

Bottled water should be fine as long as it isn't distilled water.
What's wrong with distilled water? I used it for years in my soilless and DWC grows until my distiller broke down then switched to RO water.

If my plants are ever acting up I don't have to even consider if it's because of my water quality and that's the cause of about 80% of the problems I see here with growers having problems.

Ok Thanks Everyone
Another thing about ph is some nutes only absorb towards the high or low end of the plants ph range. So its important not to have the exact same ph every time bc the plant will starve for key micro nutes, I work mine up and down. In in soilless mix so I require 5.5-6.5, I always start my seedling in the middle until they start taking off ususally a week after sprouting, but when I tranplant and start feeding id go to 6.2 or 6.3 the next time 6.5, then back to 6.2 and right down to 5.7 then slowly bring it back up, this is the first grow ive done it and I'm getting way better growth than my mentor

I guess that its not bad but you typically need to supplement cal/mag and iron and most newer growers are already in over their heads so it's best not to throw too many variables at them.
