Yesterday was a fucked day for me!

It's been raining extra hard lately in Puna. It has had bad effects on several of my ladies. Mix that with Mealy Bugs, and you got one pissed off grower in the neighborhood!:wall:

So why was yesterday an different? I normally start my day by going out and shaking my ladies. I reach in to the stalk to the upper half of plant. With a good grip I give a good gentle shake. This helps prevent mold by reducing water content on plant. But it is a hassle too. I have to go thru jungle canopy to get to my plants, and like yesterday I ended up at the location soaking wet from the wet jungle. Ad to the mix 84 degree temps with 90% humidity, and I wasn't a happy camper. My short season this year gave me plants that stretched between five to seven feet in height. Short season people, I'm stoked. Lord knows I'm no different than the 'Brown Dirt Warrior' in the sense I have plenty of bill collectors lining up.
Back to story at hand. I grab my first plant, give it a shake,...and then....snap!!! My fucking God! My top "Donkey Dick" snapped right off! I was bummed!

But then I looked around me and I didn't feel so bad. Hell, I'm in Puna Hawaii I told myself. I'm doing what I enjoy(growing outdoors). Nothing better than the Hawaiian Sunlight to grow in ,right? I got my medical marijuana card, and hey it's only a plant. It's not like I lost one of my kids! Ah, but if only this donkey dick could have had one more month to grow!

Besides, in Nov. election here on the Big Island. There is a bill that will be voted on by the public. A bill that will make Cannabis a lesser offense. Meaning cops won't go out of their way to look for pot growers or smokers, but instead will focus on more important crimes in the community. Plus us farmers will be able to grower 28 plants each without the feds 'busting your balls' So I guess I roll with it!

I love high humidity. Makes my hair frizz like hell, but I feel just like a fish thrown back into the water.

That donkey dick bud looks pretty nice, Puna. Were you the one who posted a few months ago about problems with feral pigs, too?

Here in Cali we're waiting for Arnold to sign AB2279. PleasepleasePLEASE sign it, Arnold SIGN IT!!!!

Yep, that was me. As a matter of fact yesterday afternoon I was at one of my plots checking out my buds enjoying the afternoon sun. After getting pounded by morning "tradewind showers", the afternoon sun was a welcomed relief. As I was checking one of my girls here comes this rustling in the bushes towards me. A good size pig, and I'm fucking defenseless! I don't even have one of my usual "Pit Bulls" with me who patrol the perimeter for me. Seamaiden, I got two Pit Bulls, but one is half 'Whippet'/Bull Terrier, and she loves to hunt pigs. But for some reason I left her in our yard!

Anyway, tell me about this bill the Gubanator is suppose to sign for you Californians?

Phew Man thats a damn nice looking plant. I've been hating the weather over here too. Sunny for about 2 hrs in the morning then cloudy the rest of the day. Really sucks when it rains at night and I got water chillin on my buds.

Got the starts of mold, which erks me but what the hell.

Hawaiian Sunlight!!!!!!!

Aloha guys!! I am moving to oahu at the end of november. I live in chicago now but lived in Hilo for years. I cant wait to get back to the islands. It has been a very long time though. Like 20 years so time has moved on and I still smoke tons of weed. Heres my problem. I have a good indoor setup now and am thinking about moving it to oahu. I know is a med state but I keep reading that it is still hard on us smokers so I was thinking of still staying indoors. I would also end up it a condo so I wont have a yard to grow in. I did think about having a few on the lanai but I dont know how well that will work. Would a neighbor get all bent out of shape? Also I do remember the 2 seasons for growing (short and long) but dont know when the are or how long they last. Any info you can give me would be great. If you want to see some of my indoor grow just click on the link in my signature.

I would also like to confess that when I did live in hilo my friends and I would go way out by puna and drive down the back roads looking for trails. Most times they would lead to a patch that we would then grab like half of what we found. (didnt want to be total assholes i guess) Head back to hilo and hang em to dry........For this I am truly sorry. I was a young high school kid that didnt know any better I wish I could make it up to the people we took it from. Being a grower now I understand how they must have felt. But I do miss that puna butter:) Thanks again for any advice

Living in Honolulu causes many problems for the "recreational toker" and the "medical marijuana patient". Why? Because of the dense population there. Sure growing on a Lanai is possible, but is it smart? I'd be worried to much about rip offs, never mind about offending a neighbor too. Chances are he's a "Porn Predator" who spends his time cruising kiddie porn sites!
I spent 8 years on a ten year stretch in prison. I heard enough stories there about indoor growers getting busted because 'Hawaiian Electric Company" turns them in for their electric bill that has now shot up 300% since you started using indoor lights. Plus here on the Big Island, Feds are using Heat Seeking Technology to find indoor crops. Lucky for the residents here that do chance'um, Big Island Police can't afford to use this technology very often because of cost.

Plus us resident of the Big Island are getting tired of all the Federal Bullshit. The Big Island is the leader of everything pertaining to Cannabis in Hawaii. Our County Council voted not to except federal funding for fly the choppers to look for crops. Pigs have to look elsewhere for funding to pay their fuel cost now! The DEA made all kinds of threats too, but to no avail! Now come Nov.4 ,election day. The Big Island, and only the Big Island will vote to make Marijuana crimes a lesser offense here. It also means we will be able to have 24 full grown plants too:weed:

Check it out for yourselves:

We resident here on Big Island are sick & tired of Choppers flying around our residential areas. Makes you feel like your in a war!

i would stay indoors and off the patio. just make sure you only got the legal amount(who cares if they turn you in, your legal), hopefully it will be raised soon... the local hydro store is located right across from kahala mall, not far from downtown honolulu.
aloha.

Puna, have you had a chance to sample that thing? You've really got to stop growing them so big you know. :)

I've never visited Hawai'i, only flown through. Hated the airline and the crap I had to go through just to switch planes. But the air felt wonderful. I love the tropics, love the humidity, love the warmth, could spend all day watching surfers and toking up. Jesus, I better not go there, I'd be useless.

Oh cool so honolulu has a hydro store. I was wondering if I should ship my filters and such. I dont really want to as the filter is so heavy. I guess I can get a new one when I arrive. Ill ship the fans and lights and the ferts but that filter will cost a ton and its a year old so i should get a new one. Do they have a web site?

Are you aware that Hawaiian Electric(HECO), has from time to time called the DEA? They feel it's their civil duty to turn people in from time to time. Usually high usage of electricity is the tell tale sign. Keeping that in mind, I'd rather grow on my Lanai, instead. But hey, even though Oahu is the "gathering place", and is dense in population. Oahu offers many good location for "guerilla farming" . Hell, even living in town it's possible! I grew two years in a row up in Tantalus, beyond the lookout. You just gotta be able to hike in during the wee hours of the morning so you're not noticed.
On second thought, don't grow inside or on your lanai....to much trouble can come from that! It would be terribly unfortunate to have an asshole for a neighbor, and he turns you in for growing on Lanai!? Only if I had a medical marijuana card would I move forward in this manner.

Whatever you decide,...be careful!

the electric wouldnt go up enough to make anyone notice so im not to worried about that. Im not going to have a huge thing just a 430watt and the filter far so i cant imagine it making a real differance. It hasent at my house now anyhow. They are in the business of selling electricty so why would they care how much you use?

im sure they have, for large operations, but a 430w ballast is nothing compared to what they call them for, bills that are thousands of dollars...and if hes got (gets) his card then he can crop indoor legally. and yes outdoor is possible, very possible, just gotta find the right places.
