Those are rather small at only 280 mm. You would need about 60 to properly light up a 1 meter square space.

Ok if i were to get the bigger strips how many of them would i need? Something around say 100 watts

Why don‘t you want to take the 4ft strips?
4ft x 4ft = 16sqft
10-20w/sqft x 16sqft = 160-320w
So a HLG-320H-48A (dimmable between 160-320w with build in poti).
Get as many strips as your wallet can afford, or as many as you like, and make some series/parallel wiring.

60 strips @700ma would be 960w!
even at nominal current I think 460w (28w/sqft) would be too much as veg light.

Why not using generation 2 of the EB-series? 180lm/w vs. 159lm/w@350mA!
They cost the same and should be available within the next few weeks.

For a veg tent a HLG-240H-20A(gen2 strips) or -24A(gen,1 strips) would be more than enough.
If you take 18 1ft. gen1 strips in parallel to the 24v driver(24A, 10,4A) each strip get ~578mA or 13,4w(154lm/w).
If you take 21 1ft. gen2 strips in parallel to a 20v driver(-20A, 12,5A) each strip get ~595mA or 11,9w(175lm/w).
They cost the same and should be available within the next few weeks.

For the gen2 have a look at HLG-320H-42 (http://www.mouser.com/ds/2/260/HLG-320H-SPEC-806190.pdf)

So wouldn‘t it be better to take a higher voltage driver? If I remember correctly, it was you telling me that point...

With a HLG-240 you would get around 550-600μMol/s(gen1/gen2) which is more than enough for a 1m² veg tent IMO!
Indeed, you could also use it for the flowering cycle because that's still comparable to a 400w HPS

But you are right! He could put 2 clusters of 10 parallel stripes in series for example, that's not that hard.
And 1.5% better efficiency is nice bump for nothing than a different wiring circuit and a different driver model.

Yeah, I know... Just thought about it after writing 1120mm in the next post ...
Actually I would do 2 or 3 rows (more strips, middle row is running at 1/4 or 1/2 current, depends on wiring) of the 1ft strips. I just love to have as many strips as possible. And I would get 2 driver, otherwise the first 2-3 weeks, 90% of the light is wasted.
And to make it nice and uniform, spread the strips logarythmically.

Atleast for my plants everything about 35w/sqft is too much in flower and will cause problems.
So veg light should be way less... personally I use between 10-20w for the first 3-4 weeks, before I flower them.
Or do you talk about inefficient mh bulbs, or fl tubes?
Because I was able to replace 150w fl tubes, with 50w eb strips. Same results!

The only 100W strips are Samsung Fseries double row in 1120 mm length. I don't think you could fit those in your tent. You could do the double row 560 mm F-series strips - space them about 50 mm apart and use 10 or so.

460w @ 1x1m ? That‘s like a 550-600w mh/hps bulb. I really can‘t see any reason to use this as veg light. For flowering it would be a nice light though! (Atleast thats a common choice here in europe 600w hps @ 1m2)

A HLG-240H-48A(5,2A) and 6x 560mm double row F-Series strips is a cheap and powerful solution. The strips would run with 866mA or around 40w each. Effiency should be ~175lm/w with 3.000°k and ~182lm/w with 4.000/5.000°k.
1x Meanwell HLG-240H-48A ~70$
6x 2ft DR F-strip is ~150$(25$/pcs)
6x 40*40*40*2mm alu C-channel, 600mm long 20$
Misc parts like wires, Wago's and the likes 10$
