What lights use the least electricity?

Hello friends, I’m looking to expand the grow room and add another light. Currently only using one 400watt hps and cfls mixed in here and there. I’m not limited on space but the goal is to keep electric bill as “normal” as possible. So my question is what lights would keep this cost down and make the plants happy? Thanks for the suggestions.

Go LED for a tent, because you will get more lumens per watt without the heat
I love HPS, but it can be pricey once the electric bill comes in (my grow rooms cost me $400 per month), so if I was you, I would invest in a good LED system for a tent.
If you have the money though to pay the bill, and can deal with the heat, in my opinion you can't beat HPS for the best bud development.

stop the cfl's, not worth the return now that you have hps.
400 will do the job small like, but 600's are the star for most.
I have 11 foot ceilings, bought all 1000 watt lights for my trees.
but now I find them lowered and growing 3 foot trees instead. A do over and I'd be using 600
watters, more of them even for a wider coverage same power cost.
Some ballasts can be dialed down also something to consider for future upgrades.

You could try 315 or 630W double ended, From what I have seen the good ballasts run really cool, and they use very little power, and pushes out much more light than equivalent MH etc.

Look at getting a 260w quantum board kit, it will shit all over what your using now. They cover 3x3 or 2x4 and put out about as much light as 500w of hps.

Edit, I miss read your post thinking you had 400w of cfl. So shit all over might be a stretch, but it will still beat 400w of hps. Penetration is better too.
