2 plants in 1 pot, sog, 24/0 stress training weight training, supercrop in safe manner... and more

Hi, I'm new here I've been in other forums here and there but it's been so long i put that past me and stopped growing. after 2 years of realizing how it financially hurts me to enjoy something I like so I started again.
with being eager beaver and arrogant and cocky because of my past grows, I tried to jump straight back to the deep end.
tried to pop seeds but they were;
A: old seeds so they were taking longer to germinate due to low sugar/energy in my theory.
B: I tried paper towel method but i was rushing and wasn't paying attention to temp and humidity and over wetting which would result them to rot and stink.
C I tried to super crop but it fuked up my plant badly and it died, it was stuck on 2 strings, and I also so nut burnt it badly because the pot was small even though I gave tiny amount it was very strongly concentrated (believe me or not i only used 2 spray bottle splashes but due to high concentration it must of just burnt the roots.
I popped few seeds at a time in space of a month I had like 30 seeds, each time only few would make it or survive, from that certain batch.
I would label them and be patient I finally gave up and thought, fuck it I stop fucking with nature and just dropped few seeds in the pot, I would dig them out gently pressing the soil pot gently side ways to make it crack and I would check on them, sometimes due to bad watering or whatever the seed would be upside down and steam was facing upwards or the soil went deep down into soil. (i used bigger pots because during my sleeping schedule it would dry the soil resulting my seeds to die). Anyway eventually few made it and with my lights being on for my other plants it increased warmth so I used paper towel method with just few splashes every few hours, I even slept for like 8 hours like a baby from being fucked up (from this new dealer I found that does fat 1g packs, but that's another story XD) and wokeup and the paper towel was dry as fuck the stem POPPING from the seed was yellow and paper thin, I thought "oh fuck" but I splashed them quickly and wet them and the paper, I don't know how in the world but they mirically fattened back up and still germinated, their grow is stunned abit and their first true leaves look deformed and small as hell lol.
I'm a cheap grower I don't do that fancy ph and monitoring soil ph and flushing and all that stuff and measuring shit.
I just use straight tap water with tomato nut I bought for like £1 and have had for 4 years. I've also recycled my soil many times but I've discovered new things and I also keep my soil healthy and look after it. my previous grow I was using a giant tent like 2m's (MORE space more air for the heat to expand which makes it difficult to exhaust out) my new space is very small in height like 1.3m? and light is very close, so close it burnt em alittle xd.
But they like it, although my elecy is getting drained, what I've realised is on 24/0 I get less stem growth, more leaves and more stem growth, basically big bushy plants.
I'm trying cog my plants are different sizes and I only have 1 veg space which will be flower eventually.
I've sworn on 18/6 for many years, it's the only thing I knew but ever since I've done this I have no regret.
I guess previously I convinced myself big fat stemmed plants that are tall are the best, but I was wrong, despite my stem was thick my plants had very few roots (just thicker) but now I have tons of them and I've transplanted multiple times, due to bad transplant few of them died (which I thought but they've bounced back from yellow wrinkles.
Anyway I'm still getting back into the experience I press together with my 2 fingers towards each other (each one placed on other side of stem) this actually hurts my fingers but I've discovered it's the safest way, it flattens the stem without damaging it's structural integrity and bring it down till a point where it's possible and makes more sense (which is 90degrees) then I place some weights on it to keep it from bouncing back up. I'm just using what I got really. I'm also not topping at all and growing stem sideways, believe me I haven't topped any of them, I'm just avoding anything that stunts growth.
in a week I'll prob switch and drop down slowly to 12 by taking an hour or 2 off a day. I'm on 600w hps old bulb, still going though.

You shouldn't be trying any training on little plants. Are you watering the whole pot or just a little bit around the seedlings? Soak the pots good and wait until almost dry before soaking again.

With the crummy nutes and possibly hard tap water it's not going to be a smooth ride for you but the plants aren't looking bad, yet.

With growing pot you get back what you put in so reading up about what others are doing the same as you or from some of the books in the link I'm posting for you will help you get things on track faster. I've grown hundreds of plants over the years, read thousands of hours worth of pot books, mags and posts in the 9 years I've been on pot forums and posted thousands of posts mostly helping guys like you grow some decent pot. Best hobby I ever had! :)

I found a great spot to download FREE POT BOOKS. I downloaded a grow bible first and got lots more. Books look great and complete like the real ones I have here. No web site but just a page of links. Just right click on what you want and then "Save Link As" to download so they don't open first as some are 50+ megs. They got lots. Enjoy.

Good luck!

Hi, firstly thanks for your response.
I water using this method, 2 weekly watering (major and minor) I do spray bottle for all plants to keep the top of the soil "just damp" because I've transplanted into bigger pot (the bigger plants in the pic) so I'm trying to promote new root growth from the top and I've noticed keeping top of soil completely dry just wasted few inches of "no root" and then I do major watering and make sure that few drops come out from the bottom (but not flowing with a lot of water.
I also use my hands to lift the plant pot to determine it's weight, giving me an indication on how dry or wet the soil is.
for the smaller plants it's just spray bottle but for the bigger ones it's both.
they're not too young I have some nice thick stem.
the plants range from youngest 1-2weeks, and oldest about 4 weeks.

how are things looking now?

looks decent. i think youre ont he right path...

get those plants seperated and into their own containers before its too late. the roots will compete with each other and one will die and id bet my entire harvest that the roots are already entangled some, if not a lot. if you really need 2 plants in one container use a piece of plastic or something to create a partition so you can have 2 plants in one container, but each plant is seperated from the other so they wont compete.

I tried that, I put a plastic lid for a food container but for some odd reason they hated that. A lot of moisture was being captured around the plastic, plus they're like 6 weeks behind the rest of the plants, there's not much root activity atm going on I've just recently transplanted them and I've put them further away from each other as possible within the soil, I lack space so even if one or the other are more dominant I'm okay with that, there's a lot of room in the soil. hopefully they'll be fine they're both the same strain, what are you growing btw?

I had 4 plants that got over a foot tall in a 4" square pot and just used a bread knife to separate them into larger individual pots and they grew fine. Just one big mass of roots I sliced and diced with no sign of shock. I slice off any roots at teh bottom of teh rootball each time I repot plants and they grow really fast after that.

Everybody thinks even putting a support stick in a pot is going to stress a plant from root damage but it's no more stress than cutting off a lower branch or ten.

The only thing I've noticed that can fuk it up is, let's say if 2 plants in one pot, different nut strengths would be needed to accommodate each plant which can result in nut burn.

Anything's possible I guess but I've run multiple strains in one tub doing DWC and not had problems.

It is best for every plant to have it's own pot for sure.

Best for each plant to have its own pot but I also have a couple of pots going like you. Mine are in soil. The seeds are all from the same plant and I have 2 plants in a 3 gallon and 3 plants in a 5 gallon. All are small plants 7 weeks into flowering. So far they are doing well aside from being small.
The two in the 3 gallon look similar to each other.
The 3 in the 5 gallon are all doing well with very slight deficiencies showing up. One plant shows no def. One shows poss N def in one leaf and one shows possible Mg def in one leaf, other than that they are all similar. It is interesting to watch them develop.

I think what makes sense is that if your pot size and soil quantity can accommodate for more plants then it's fine having that said should also think ahead so you have plenty of space till the grow is finished. I just wanted to give it a shot, and I've done this twice so it's best if it's same strain/plant so you know what you're expecting.

T5's, shop bought westlands with added john innes potting compost (Uk), soaked for 24hous in cup then planted in pot and left on side or if its cold my veg tent. This is one week couple of days 6-8 inches from t5s zero ferts maybe a flimsy dose of biobizz fishmix. Transplanted to slightly bigger pots now bit should have waited a couple more waterings really (fucking jumping the gun and making a few errors with basic shit recently).

Leaves twitch in a gentle breeze, od touch of purple or yellow also slight wilt here and there but look happy most days with fatish stem growth and reaching for the light.

Barely need extraction and stopped with meters now but im still just an average grower, damned if i can get to perfect or amazing but simple soil ferts and basic warmth and wind like a sunny day seems about where my tents sit atm.

Love to hear from other growers with seedling or rooted clone pics.
