Black Hash 20 yrs ago.

Finger hash rocks. The smell and taste. I have been fortunate to help a bud trim his harvest a few times. There is always some finger hash which he says to keep. Its never a lot which is ok but will fill the bowl 2-3 times which is a treat in itself to enjoy. Looking forward to accessing my own.
I may have to find this book. Can it be downloaded, anyone have a possible link?

Cheers

It's in this list of books.

I found a great spot to download FREE POT BOOKS. I downloaded a grow bible first and got lots more. Books look great and complete like the real ones I have here. No web site but just a page of links. Just right click on what you want and then "Save Link As" to download so they don't open first as some are 50+ megs. They got lots. Enjoy.

Awesome always appreciate the input. Will chk out both YouTube and the books links. And of course here. Not like there is a shortage of knowledgeable info here.

Thanks again
Venge.

I like using a glass bottle filled will boiling water n parchment paper , it will bring out the color n texture your looking for .
Roll the hash like doe .when it’s flat Roll it up and repeat
I fold up the PP and tape it into the shape I want (after it’s pressed to where I like it) then roll
After it cools your left with a nice piece of hash

I've been making nice hash with a 50:50 mixture of QWISO wax and finely ground buds. The browner the better for the buds.

What do you mean by the browner the better?
I only ever had brown bud once and I found it 20miles from the nearest road .
It was in a glass baby food jar and it was left there for 8months .
There was also a poorly rolled joint, small bic lighter, a monkey pipe n a pack a zig zags . The brown was from being sun bleached, the bud that didn’t get sun was still nice, i smoked it all, it was actually better then the bud I lost on the hike into the mtns .

If a plant gets frost-bitten and stays out in the sun, the buds will turn brown. They do seem to survive down to 27-8°F. Really just turning color like any plant will do when it dies. It gets rid of the chlorophyll flavor.

About 20 years ago, we would get black hash, that wasn’t overly good, but the taste n smell , hold a special spot for me.
I’ve been trying to recreate this hash for a very long time.

From what I've seen, "traditional" hash seems to be a combination of trichome pieces, plant material, and contaminants combined with an aggressive heating and pressing method. Most of the Afghani / Moroccan vids demonstrate using only a piece of silk as a filter for dry sifting, which in turn results in a product that's more susceptible to contaminants than our western bubble hash counterparts, and it's these contaminants, combined with the heat and pressing technique, that's probably responsible for that distinctive character.

Here's a good vid showing a dude in A-stan hand pressing some hash.

Contaminants or not, I think I'm going to try the old school "beat the shit out of dry cannabis over the top of a piece of silk covering a bowl with sticks to collect some trichomes and then heat and press the shit out of it by hand until it's dark and supple" technique.

That old school hash WAS flavorful and aromatic, I'll give it that...

The hash in the 1st pic is strong
Rolled a j yesterday around lunch
Woke up 6 hours later .
The couple hairs where picked off before smoking, lol

Right now, I’m waiting on new filter material to make my own bags,
I’m testing 3 products to make bags, and have designed a little different way to work the material.

The guy at buldtbags is a joke , doesn’t know the difference between ltr n gallons

I’m going to make better bags , n sell cheaper.....and make the process easier.

Moroccan hash is made exactly that way....
I watched a vid where a Moroccan farmer said he was only getting like 1% yield of good quality, and like 3-4% of second rate. Meanwhile, another vid from A-stan showed them using a tapping technique where they put some plant material on a cloth/silk screen, rub it in, and then tap on the screen to try and filter the trichomes. I wonder what the difference in yield is between the two.

The hash in the 1st pic is strong

Looks great.

Most Shmea we got this side of the pond and elsewhere was made with a binding agent that we can't recreate

Nothing wrong with getting used to the BEST of the best ....what we produce on this side of the pond today! ;) .

Give up smoking cigarettes and then come back to this thread

i've never used tobacco, if you have to mix it with something, the obvious choice to me has always been weed, preferably the same strain the hash came from

I've been enjoying the temple ball and King Hassan in Amsterdam. I love the old school hashes. I still haven't found afghani in amsterdam that is worth a damn though. I'll definitely miss it when I get back to the states.

If I’m smoking hash in a joint I prefer tobacco , I find the taste of the hash gets lost in the weed a bit.
I quit smoking for a long time, then had to pass a piss test n was going hunting for two weeks n figured I’d bring cigars to puff on, then piss clean n go back to just cannabis,
I fucked up, addicted to it again.

For anyone who wants to quit
Read this book
“Easy way to quit smoking “
Allen Carr

I plan to read it again and fix this problem.
Again.....

I think I’m coming close but I can’t get it 100%, last run was too soft n inside color was off. But it’s good . I want lower grade hash for smoking during the day.
I got lots of bubble hash that will clear your schedule, but too strong for doing stuff, and too hard to roll into a J.
I’m wondering if any members, know what I’m talking about, or have a recipe etc?

What I’m doing is taking low grade kif that will not press on its own, and mixing iso oil
Then pressing . (Basically)
Last time I used to much oil, n it’s a little softer then I wanted.
It this how that hash was made?
If you want to make the black hash you know and love from the 80/90s (like me) then you need to know the method.... dry sieve like the moroccans then work it with heat and water. For a lonv while.
The vid below is pt 2 i think. I recall there was a first part that showed the guy pouring a bit of water on the keif then heating it up and working it.

A friend of mine from pakistan showed me how and gave me a link to this vid.
