Hello all! Good evening :) In your opinion what is the best deodorant to cover the smell of growing marijuana? Personally, i LOVE the smell lol but i have family that comes to the house every once in awhile and would rather have them NOT know that im growing marijuana. Right now im using frebreez and its working ok.. lol

Im sorry if im posting this in the wrong section..

Thanks!
Chris

how do you have it setup? a tent with ventilation? you could use some odor absorbing gels, carbon filters and good ventilation and it should cover it good.
Right now im doing a closet grow in my bed room, no tent w/ vents or anything like that. The only way i can think of "blocking" the smell is shutting the closet doors, but then it would get way too hot.. :/

When those babies go into flower isn't a fabreez around that will cover the smell some kind of carbon filter or those blocks they sell at grow shops
Can you use a carbon filter if you just set it next to the plant? Or do you need a vent setup to do that?

The flavour of any masking smell you use may end up in your weed. Get a small filter and fan, put it in the top of your cupboard.
Fresh air is super important to your plants as they need a constant stream of fresh CO2 when the lights are on.

You can certainly recirculate the grow air, but best is to blow it out unless you add CO2.

saw some ozone things somewhere online but I dont know if they were sprays or what they were about. May be something to it though.

Totally agree with your weed absorbing smells.

I thought that was a dead give away when you smelled ona gel and heard an electric buzzing sound LMAO or fish pumps but no aquarium o_O

Edit you only smoke ona weed once before you decide to do it right with a carbon filter lol

If you set up the carbon filter in the closet and had it exhaust a little aways it would be a good improvement along with some sprays for the room think you would be alright
Thank you very much for the replies! ANC, is there a specific filter that you could recommend? (hopefully on the cheaper side lol) Right now, during the day, i leave the bed room door open to help air circulation, so fresh air can enter the room. i have 2 fans running currently; the main fan on the ceiling and a smaller portable fan right by the plant as well.

And when i used the frebreeze, i only used it outside of the room so people would just smell that lol

you can do what is called "scrubbing" you get a inline fan and carbon filter and recirculate the air, i recommend you exhaust if possible, you would need to run a short ventilation, does that closet connect to an attic by chance? venting is actually fairly easy...

I believe it is, id have to make some planks so id be able to crawl to this area, but i definitely could get to the closet area from above. Ill definitely think about doing that, that doesn't sound too hard. Thanks for the reply!

So personally if you got a 4" carbon filter an inline fan and a couple venting fans with the inline as your exhaust out and venting fans bringing cool air in I feel u could shut the closet doors without a huge heat issue and would control smell the most efectivly

no problem, if you were solely exausting to your attic, you wouldnt need to go up there, just cut you a small hole (whatever size ducting you use) and push it through. Done.

Just get the smallest one you can, spend your money on getting a quiet fan. The small diameter fans can be quite noisy. Trust me 40db+ and you get scared to turn on the fan. There are models that can do 10s and 20s db
