I sent my application in 10/18, so I received my approval letter exactly 90 days after submission. It says on the letter that I was approved 12/22/2017. Kind of a bummer that the card expires from that date approved, even though I didn't have the opportunity to use it until 25 days after.
Oh Well, Not a big deal. I'm so happy!

To share my experience:
10/17/2017 my application was submitted online & I confirmed this with IDPH in early December.
1/16/2018 my letter was received & I went directly to my dispensary.
I have been following this thread recently & feel the same as many of you. Even made same comment to my husband as MeggyJane about expiration date - my expiration date is 12/21/2018.

Hey, how’s it going? Just came across this forum last night, when I was going crazy playing the waiting game. I sent in my documentation on 12/1/2017 and that’s where I’m at currently. From the looks of it, It went from the estimated 45-60 days to 80-95 days. So I’m about midway point (I hope).
I am a disabled Navy Veteran. So luckily, I was able to skip the physicians approval. If that will make things quicker, I don’t know, but I will definitely keep you guys informed.
I sent an email asking for the status, and of course it was the same message RoboLady gave me on the phone. That was 01/16/2018.
Waiting really makes things miserable. Especially with lack of communication. But I keep checking my bank account many times a day, waiting for that check to post. I already know this is well worth the wait. The meds they throw at us so easily at the VA is extremely overbearing. And the side effects were destroying me. “Here take another pill, so the other pill will work properly.” No thanks, I’d rather just smoke and be hungry.
So here’s to another possible 40 days of waiting. I will post more whenever I get more news. Take care guys.

It seemed like it took forever, but got my letter yesterday, cuz we now have to wait longer for the cards, and went to the dispensary today. Only bought 3 types of vapees and some chocolate edibles. I'm scared, but gonna experiment tonight I'll let y'all know,! Peace out....

Hey what’s up. I know exactly how you feel. It’s been since 2011 since I’ve gotten more than 2-3 hours of straight sleep. This card means so much. I served on the USS Enterprise (CVN-65) and also got the privilege to decommission it as well. I was apart of OEF/OIF.

Well, I have a letter from IDPH coming today...I'm almost afraid to see what it says considering it was 1/10 when I was told my application hadn't been looked at yet and now, only 9 days later I have something coming in the mail. Most people seem to be going about 20-25 days after their approval dates before getting the card/letter so 9 days has me worried...I'll follow up when the mail gets here

01/02 Check cleared my bank
01/10 was told by IPDH that my app hadn't been looked at yet and it was depending on when all the check sent out with mine cleared, that they process apps in groups
01/19 received approval letter with an approval date of 01/11 according to the letter, which was dated 01/17
Thank god this process is done finally...I'm going to check my dispensary hours and try to get in this afternoon if I can...I would love to sleep all night finally!

I’m very new to the site. I joined because of this thread. I just sent in my application today. My doctor said she would do it in the beginning if the week, but I ended up in the hospital. Luckily I was able to luckily keep my appointment today right after I got out and they helped me with my application as well as did fingerprints and pictures for me and my mom who will be my caregiver. I feel like I’m the odd wo(men) out kind of because I’m very excited for the chance to try marijuana and hopefully get off a lot of medications but my experiences with it in the past have not been so great. I’ve gotten paranoid and uncomfortable and didn’t find any pain relief but I was told that there’s some many strains and they would be able to find the right one for me. I also have a 7 year old so I want to be aware enough to care for her. Also I haven’t seen anyone with the condition I have and I’m hoping this post will help me find someone as well as maybe qualm my fears about how I will do on pot. I have MS which has caused trigeminal neuralgia (yes the “suicide disease”.) Due to MS I have atypical so constant pain as well as what I call shooting pain. Opiates do nothing for it. The only thing that does is tegretol and it keeps lowering my sodium level so much they send me to the hospital. I’m having my second nerve block soon. Basically I’m desperate. I know marijuana helps MS but do any of you have TN and find relief? I’m also looking for relief from MS spascity, back pain, anxiety, and PTSD. Can I get relief from the bladder spasms or the numbness and tingling in my extremities? I am also anxiously waiting and have been trying to find out why they deny people’s cards so I can be prepared but I can’t find it online. Well that was a very long post and a lot of questions but I will be very thankful for anyone’s who answers.

Hi and welcome Aeq, I can't answer the majority of your questions but I can answer one...the only reason that they are supposed to deny a card is for a past felony drug conviction. I can't remember where I found that to give you the source but that's supposed to be the only way you can get denied. Hopefully a few others can answer some more of your questions and I'm sorry to hear what you're going through. Have faith and hang in there, this is a really good community here and once you get the card, the dispensary workers are quite knowledgeable and can help you find options that can treat many, many things and they know what will help you without leaving you feeling high or stoned if that's a concern for you, which it obviously is with a little one at home. Good luck and hopefully they'll get the process moving faster soon!
