Check out my seedlings, how am I doing?

Just wondering if there's anything else I can tweak to help these suckers go. This a little over a week in, my heat was out for 3 days so understandably my progress has been slowed to a crawl. Everything survived though thankfully. 1 of them sprouted straight up and out the surface of the soil and dried itself up. So I replanted it sideways basically, hope that was the right move. I have them in 4" pots with low nute baby soil a friend gave me. I'm in a closet that's 3 ft x 5 ft. At the time of writing this I had a tent arrive that's 2.5 ft x 4.5 ft BUT it came in used and rusty from HTG Supply so another hold up.

My soil has seemingly been very dry due to low humidity, so I've been misting them at least once a day. I have just a 4000k LED board right now running at 60w about 2 ft away. I can add another board and bump it up to 100w if I need to. The end plan is to have all 3 under 4 boards at 200/300w, depending on if I can get enough air flow for all 300w. I've been using plastic cups with holes cut in the sides to help trap some humidity, it helped them grow tremendously at first but now not as much. Soil temp averages around 67 without the cups and 71 with them. My plants look to be standing still and not growing anymore.

If anyone was interested the strain is Dirty Snow (Chem D x Humboldt Snow) by CSI Humboldt. I'll be posting more on their progress in the future. A humidifier is the next purchase for my room. Let me know what you think! Thanks!

You probably don't need the domes or misting at this point. Two of the three look like they can use more light, so I'm glad you lowered it.

Just be patient and let them do their thing!

Thanks I hear you, I had them off for a few days but the dang humidity has been so low in there it worried me. I'm gonna try it again for a while, it looks like my smallest one might be damping off but I can't see how with the soil being so dusty dry practically

The smallest one isn't doing good, looks like it's damping off but I don't see how with the soil so dry. I started pouring water in the sides today instead of misting. And I tried watering the straggler the same today as the other 2, just to see if it might help.

Should I try tying it to a stick and straightening it? Lol maybe it's never gotten proper lighting yet because its leaves have always been facing downward away from the light. I had just watered it when I took the picture

The smallest one is 2 weeks from when I started germinating, hardly any growth to speak of
If it's going to die, I doubt you can do much at this point. If they have a few roots, they can usually recover. But that one is a little young.

I don't see any signs at all that it's lacking water. But you'll have your answer by tomorrow.

dont tie it to anything, you will kill it, if you ever want to prop a seedling up, get a straw and cut a short piece off, then slice it down the middle, stick into medium and plant inside straw with top out of straw.
also, you dont need to keep a dome over seedlings once the cotyledons open, they need light, not humidity. The medium will give your seedling all of the humidity it needs :) hope this helps.

Hey that's a great idea thank you, definitely helps a lot

yup slit straw or a stick or something.. what are temps? a 60w led cant be so hot that it hangs 2 or 3 above the canopy? you want to get your light source as close as u can to yur plants, w/out burning them. start lowering it, use the back of yur hand as reference for heat.. when the heat becomes uncomfortable, then that's the right height. after they are a few days old, they can handle the light. trust me, if seedlings thrive under an open-air 1k lamps at 24" above, they can handle yur LEDs on top of them.

u have a fan on them and ventilation? a 4" fan/filter combo is under a 100 bucks on amazon. and a small desk fan for canopy circulation is like $10 at walmart and it works wonders man..

Unless u live on the ocean, a dehumidifier is a waste of money.

maybe consider repotting at some point.. i'll sprout and grow seedlings for a week to 10 days in the initial planting container (seed tray, 3" sq, solo cup, etc..), before i repot into 1 or 2 gal and vegging really begins, with at least 1 more repot down the road. They will take off faster if they have more depth and width. That 1st repot is also when should crank up all yur 300w of led. blast them with light man and keep it as close as possible and keep it on 24/0. there is no reason to run a 18/6, in yur case, in my opinion.

veg them another 4 weeks or so, top/prune them so they become wider than they are tall (LED intensity aint like a HID; u have maybe 18" of growth u can light up. anything below that point should be stripped off, so a 24" plant, is mostly all bud, but a 48" plant is like 3 feet of stems before the top viable region, which is a waste), take some clones off the bottom branches and flip the originals. Keep it simple, dont think too hard. you'll do great man, no worries.

i agree^ the only side note, i would say do a 20-4 light schedule. only because everyone likes sleep :) also be careful with how much light you put on it during veg, light is important, but not AS much during veg, keep it cool :)

Soil temps are around 70-74, the temp on the light is super low it's only about 110 I can lay my hand right on it all day long. Didn't know I could have the light right on top of them, or on for 24 hrs straight. I have a fan for circulation and I ordered an inline fan/filter combo it should be here early next week. I didn't know that you could repot so soon either. Thank you some more great info
