If you are using dry trim 17% return is about right. I use fresh "wet" frozen trim (700gr wet trim= about 175 gr dry). Big difference.

If you are getting 17% on Fresh trim then you are getting way too much plant matter in your kief. Like i said above...my dry ice hash is almost like bubble hash.... been doing this for years and I've got it worked out quite well.

And doing a second run with dry ice....??? yikes...

What do you see wrong with it? I'm asking honestly as I'm absolutely no expert in making hash. I'd be pretty happy if I produced it. I made a dry sift tumbler thing years ago and always thought it made pretty nice sift but again what do I know.

Click on the pic. Way too over worked. Lots of plant material in that pic. I'd say half that amount would be clean sift. Especially when he's using sift screen, he should be tapping rather than scuffing/rubbing.

I'm after quality over quantity. I then toss to make butter. I do this for personal use so don't need much.

Dry material will shred in matter of seconds tumbling, rubbing. Regardless of screen size, if you rub against it you're really just grating material to THAT micron size

Makes sense. I do see some plant material in there. Not really sure what ever happened to that tumbler i made but I would like to give it a go again as i have a lot of trim/popcorn in the freezer and plenty of butter already. Was thinking maybe qwiso? Sounds pretty easy. I do like the dry sift tho. What do you mean by tapping? What size screen are you using?

I was watching a vid the other day
Where the guy did his final clean up
With static.
He wrapped a dvd case in parchment
Then rubbed that over what came from a 305 screen i think.
Then used a tiny paint brush to collect the heads from the case.

Nothing larger than 120 if you want just trich heads. Even 160 you'll have stalks, with dry ice.



Dry sifting screen, stretched over a frame, you set buds on the screen, lightly tapping the screen to gently move buds around. Multiple sized screenings, and what charface said, lightly brushing with paint brush to gently push heads through the clean up screen rather than forcing them through.

Our better weather has created an outdoor BBQ and grilling habit that matches our weed habit, and dry ice helps keep our BBQ meats in the cooler longer than normal ice, which comes in handy for extended trips, camping, and fishing trips in the hot ass south and southwest.
