I was explaining the PPFD of my old units, each covering an 18x18 and I had a 4x2. I was using 241w in a 4x2. 2 78w (plus 9w for fan), 1 85w (+7w for fan.)im done with this for a bit. you just went from 18"x18" to 4'x2'
a 4x2 space requires 400W of HPS but can be done with 250-300W of LED
1 square meter is 1550 sq inches. 18x18 is 324 square inches. Three of your 18x18's is only a little more than half of a square meter. You need two more fixtures to be approximately equal in area.It isn’t a spot reading. 1 of my Cree CXB3590s (36v @ 2150mA) was about 860 PPFD in an 18x18. The Vero29C from Tasty at 1670mA was 920 in an 18x18. Those were under 100w each and I had 3. Now I’m using 2 Vero29Cs at 200w.
Again, these were my old fixtures. A square meter is ~3x3’. 18” = 1.5’. 1.5x1.5 x 3 = ..? Where’s your math, exactly?1 square meter is 1550 sq inches. 18x18 is 324 square inches. Wait, I thought you were comparing to 600W HPS? You do realize that 600W HPS have the highest efficiency and 150W HPS are the lowest efficiency of the breed? That's why literally no one uses them for growing - one would be better off using household LED bulbs.@CobKits If you can show me a 150w HPS that can reflect the performance of my plants, I will kiss your ass on national television.
He brought up the 150w, he’s the fool. He said a 150w could do what my COBs do in an 18x18.Wait, I thought you were comparing to 600W HPS? A square meter is 39.37 x39.37 inches. One inch is 25.4 mm and a meter is 1000 mm.Again, these were my old fixtures. A square meter is ~3x3’. 18” = 1.5’. 1.5x1.5 x 3 = ..? Where’s your math, exactly?
sure@CobKits If you can show me a 150w HPS that can reflect the performance of my plants, I will kiss your ass on national television.
Yeah. What’s 18x18 x 3? 3 fixtures that cover an 18x18 with 860-920 PPFD. Amplified in a 4x2 for scale.A square meter is 39.37 x39.37 inches. One inch is 25.4 mm and a meter is 1000 mm.
namecalling is not a good look man. get ahold of your math im here to help not talk down to people. He brought up the 150w, he’s the fool. He said a 150w could do what my COBs do in an 18x18.
You just said 150w of HPS would be 90w of COB. I can’t trust your word. As I recall, you soft drive your COBs. I apologize for the name calling, but 150w of HPS is not going to give you my product.namecalling is not a good look man. get ahold of your math im here to help not talk down to people.
No sir, I did not forget. Read it again. ONE of your 18x18's is 324 sq in. THREE of them (972 sq in) is a little more than 1/2 of a sq meter (775 sq in. is a 1/2 sq meter.). You need FIVE of the 18x18's to be equal.Do the math again, @nfhiggs. You forgot to multiple 18x18 by 3.
does your growspace use 90W of LED? if so 150W of HID will replace itYou just said 150w of HPS would be 90w of COB. I can’t trust your word. As I recall, you soft drive your COBs. I apologize for the name calling, but 150w of HPS is not going to give you my product.
No, it used 241w of COB plus fans. Now I’m using 200w with about 70-150 more PPFD.does your growspace use 90W of LED? if so 150W of HID will replace it
ill leave the rest of the math to you
Whatever you say, man. Take it easy.does your growspace use 90W of LED? if so 150W of HID will replace it
ill leave the rest of the math to you
sure. No, it used 241w of COB plus fans. Now I’m using 200w with about 70-150 more PPFD.
I highly, highly doubt it. If you can show me the PPFD at 18” that indicates a 400w HPS puts out over 1013 PPFD, I will concede. Even a spot reading.sure.
400W HID would yield more than 200W of cobs
