I'm just finding out about extracting THCA crystal from re-pressing the first rosin through a 25 micron filter screen at a low temp (~130F/53C) and allowing the terp-rich sap to flow out...Then you go back and take what's left in the filter screen and put that into another, fresh 25 micron screen and re-press that at a slightly higher temp (+20 degrees or so) ...Do this maybe once more and all (or most) of the sticky, terp-rich sap will be gone and what's left in the screen is almost pure crystalline THCA -hard as a rock and full-melt! People are then going back and mixing a bit of the isolated terpsap, (from the first press), back into the crystalline THCA to whatever their personal tastes are, and then grinding it all up into a powder.....I can't wait until my 25 micron screen material gets here to try it!

It is supposedly a full-melt dab kind of substance without much taste (since all the terpsap has been melted away from it), but is nearly-pure crystalline THCA!
The idea is that, by using temperatures below the melting point of THCA to do the press, the oils and terps and all that "stuff" that isn't THCA will flow out through the filter bag. But the THCA crystals will coalesce inside the filter bag because the temp isn't high enough to melt them and allow them to flow out.
Yes, there is another, longer YouTube video of a guy doing this and it looks really interesting. I just ordered the 25 micron material today so it will be awhile before I get to try it, myself, but I will keep you posted when the time comes. In all honestly, I'm not expecting much more than a learning experience.

Hello again....
Well, to update you guys on the THCA experiment....ummm...I followed the instructions to a "T" and...
I got absolutely ZERO THCA crystals!
What was left in the 25 micron mesh at the end was some particulate matter that was in the rosin when I did the earlier presses...a few leaf flecks and some hairs, etc.
So, now what I have is the same, super-sticky, sappy rosin that I started with that's been super-filtered three times! I guess that's not such a bad thing, but I was really hoping for at least a few flakes of THCA crystal...zip, nada, zilch!
I suppose it could have just been that the starting material (the flower that it all came from) was lacking in THCA. To be honest, it never got me high!
All I can hope for is that the next grow, I can come up with some more potent starting material and try the experiment again and get better results....but I call this try a complete FAIL! (other than the learning experience and actually performing all the tasks involved the correct way).
Well the rosin sap still smells very good and doesn't smell burnt or over-cooked or anything so I guess I can still dab it for some flavor without the worry of getting high at all! XD
Back to the drawing board!

Yes, the guy in the above video uses a stainless steel screen. But the video I watched for reference, the guy used a 25 micron bag that he cut up so that it was a square and then he folded that around the rosin....and he got a series slab of THCA crystal.
The only thing I can figure is that he said the rosin he used, was butter and that butter already had the beginning crystals in it....Mine was straight, sticky sap...and still is!
