I treat my kids like little adults not like dumb kids
Some parents let their kids go un potty trained for years .
All of mine where trained before 2.
They know dad smokes weed and its a drug
And i expect them not too

I had wonderful educational parents. Half our family went on to get phd’s in their fields. They didn’t know I needed a gun in 10th grade. They were picking out universities for me.
You will never know much truth about your kids. And it gets worse as they get older and have more reason to lie.

Sorry im not raising them like you where .
Just cause you put yourself in a situation where you "needed" a gun as a teen
Does not mean my kids will
My kids arent interested in guns or a lifestyle where guns are needed

You're correct, it's quite obvious from your posts that your life has been different because you are not very smart, and probably uneducated. This causes you to refuse to listen to people who are smarter than you, which is another trait of those without common sense.
So yes, your life is different from anyone who has an IQ that is over 100.

Seriously? Each child is an individual. Something you'll soon learn as they approach they're teen yrs.
Bad things happen to good people everyday.
Believing you live in a safe little bubble, where if you just follow your own set of rules, raise your kids right, and you'll be immune from all the horrible things that can happen is a naïve dangerous mindset.
If you truly love your children, you'll not only raise them right but do everything in your power to protect them and that includes protecting them from your own poor judgment and blind warped ego.
One of you weren't even aware you had intruders in your home because you were incapable of even teaching/training your damn dogs.
Still shaking my head at the utter idiocy displayed here.
Maybe put down the gun magazines and start reading a little bit about child development.

Until your society sees gun ownerships as a privilege and not a right (like a car licence for eg) and have a nationwide system rather than a bunch of state one's then nothing's going to change.

I had a convo on FB with an American FB friend awhile ago. I was saying how America has a gun culture and how for anything to change it first had to tackle that. Her reply still baffles me. "We don't have a gun culture", was her reply. Nothing I could say could make her see that It does. Was quiet strange as she isn't a stupid person.
But she just had to look at the rest of the world to see that it does.

I can sorta agree with that.
How far does that go? Do you watch movies with guns? Play video games with guns?
Should actors and actresses that are against guns refuse to take roles where they will use a gun?
What drives the gun culture?
For me its not the glory of violence or the hopes of being a hero. Its fond memories that I have with loved ones and role models. Hunting trips with dad and grandpa. The hunting trips I now take with my kids. Its a way of life. I feed my family hunting. I think its more humane than how animals are treated in mass production farms.
I'm not quit sure what the answer is. I do know that I own guns. I'm partly responsible. It should be part of my duty to make sure gun accidents don't happen.
Its why I started this thread. Something has to change. How do we do that? I put my thoughts into the matter. I hope it does some good. I hope that maybe at least one or two people decide to think about it as well and maybe act on it.
