One of my plants leaves flip upside down when I change res

I don’t know if I am crazy (which is possible lol) but when I change my resivor on my dwc.... one of my plant go wacky. It has random leaves flip upside down. You can literally sit and watch it do it slowly. They will start standing straight up as high as they can go then slowly flip upside down. After about an hour or two it flips back normal. Surely this isn’t common. Could I be doing something wrong. My set up is 5 gallon dwc. I’m one week into 12/12 cycle. PH is 5.6-5.8. Water temp is 69F. PPM is around 1048. Humidity is around 49%. Room temp is about 71F. I add H2O2 on res change due to roots browning a little bit and I wanted to be preventative(2ml per gallon) because I didn’t know if it was getting root rot or just staining from nutrients. Sooooooooo anyone with advice?!?

They were clones. I put it in my dwc 5 weeks ago. I veg’d them for 4 weeks and now they are on day 8 of 12/12

See how the one can leaf is sideways.... here in like 30 min it will be upside down. Sometimes it’s one some times it’s a couple lol

Weird. When you change the res do you stick the plant in an empty bucket or how do you do that? I mean if it corrects itself no biggie I guess. I'll be honest I haven't really waited around staring at them after a res swap in a while to check if that's a thing for me. Only other thing that seems remotely different from my setup is the h2o2. Plenty of people use it successfully i just never do and haven't had to.

I have had a few do this, I thought it was escaping the light. If not then I still have no clue

I set it in an empty bucket. Basically I get my nuts ready in a sterilized bucket then pull it out of its current bucket and set it in an empty bucket. I then dump it’s original bucket and clean it along with the air stone. Put the new nuts mixture in and put the plant back in. I’m doing that for now till the roots get crazier. I actually heard using H2O2 was great because it kills the bacteria in root rot and prevents it along side giving a crazy boost of oxygen in the water

Oh and btw... I love staring at them. just kidding. I just happen to notice because I do one bucket at a time and in the process of going back and forth I notice it. First time I seen it... I went in to close up the tent and the one plant had like 5 fan leaves flipped. I was like OMG what in the hell did I do. Then it went back to normal. The next time I was paranoid so I watched it and seen it happen. This time it didn’t do it right away and I was like YAY... then all of the sudden the one fan leaf started standing up. All I could think was REALLY NOT AGAIN. Maybe she’s just temperamental.

Also just buy a spare bucket and prep your nutes then when you transfer they only leave the water for a second rather than the time it takes your to make a whole bucket up of nutes

I have two spare buckets. They only stay out of water for like a min. I prep everything before I start doing the flip flop. Only reason why I don’t use the bucket I mixed the nutrients in is because the air stone I have is round and it kept trying to float(6” round disc) So I have to suction cup it to bottom of bucket. I don’t want to stick my hand down in the nutrients. So I clean the bucket and air stone then stick it back on..... maybe I’ll just spend more money and buy more air stones and buckets so I can make it quicker so I don’t have to wait for the bucket cleaning.

. lower your ppm's to stop this
Thanks!!!! I will try that. Just seems weird that the nutrients are high. I kept them at 850-950 the whole aggressive veg cycle. I only brought it up 100 ppm for the transition. :hump: I guess we will see! Should I just go back down to the 850-950?

I'd slip some 500 for a cycle then begin increasing it gradually until you get to know your girl. dont forget to clone her a few times, just in case she's a holy grail for you.

I was thinking about cloning her but I got her as a clone. Her nodes are way to asymmetrical. I’m assuming she came of an older mother plant. It was so off I couldn’t top her. I even thought about maybe cloning her and then letting the clone go hermy to get some seeds lol. I’m still debating though. Figured I could decide that here in the next week since she is just transitioning into flowering.

Look at sweet water air stones they’re heavy and won’t float. They’re pretty nice air stone very durable opposed to most you buy at Walmart or grow stores.
