How long of a wait after defoliation

I’ve grown most of my strains multiple times, so you have to know your plant. On my sour Diesel, GG4 stuff that stretches big, I defoliate between week 2-3 of flower. 3 days prior to being put into flower I suppercrop and top my plants, helps control the height since I’m in a cabinet.

Recap:
Defoliate week 2-3 of flower & Week 8-9

Top:
1 week or less before flower if she’s a stretcher

How long after pruning, in veg, do you wait before you flip over to flower?
That was the initial question!
And the answer is, depends on who you talk too, :)
I do a week or so, depends on growth of course, so look at the plants, say are you ready to flip? Then pull the trigger.
This is #3 from my G13 grow, this plant was pruned on 5/30, put into flower 6/3

Total of the four G13 Haze plants = 23.5 Zips (658g) of smokable/medical 6 zips per plant, just over
1 G/W.
Shake, sugar leaf/leaf (168g), G13 under sized buds, smokable but would be too much work to trim (56g), the entire grow of Critical Kush (70g) = (296g) 10.5 Zips used to make Cannabis Oil.
Total grow = 35 + Zips

this would be why you traditionally want to take from the insides and bottom when doing your defos, correct?
exactly. anything in the bottom should be cleared where your light penetration is just too weak. wasted energy, and that energy will be redirected to more productive tissues. taking from the inside improves air flow through the plant. and taking from the uppers, you should only take leaves that are shading a vast majority of stuff below.

ideally, things should be defoliated when they are as small as possible (this requires an anticipation of what the plant will look like with days to come), then there are few resources wasted by the plant because they will be distributed to other growing areas. but sometimes life just doesn't work like that, and if you have to wait to get to it, don't go crazy and take off a shit ton and shock the plant!

I should have taken a picture i pulled a small bags worth off last night lol

It all depends on your plants ..
If they bounce right back or grow like you didnt even touch them .

Then you could flip within a week.

Most the old grow bibles say to wait two weeks

After any major stress on the plant. Its a good rule of thumb.

But if your plants are growing like crazy it might be about as big again in two weeks lol.

If its a vigorous grower id say wait at least 3to 4 days after cutting before you flip :)

I've come across vids of people cutting the leaves in half to open up their plant for light/air penetration instead of completely pruning. Anyone heard or tried this with differ results?
